Have You Ever Lost Track Of Time While Mylotting? |
|
Say you were to start posting here on one of your days off from work. It is say like 10 a.m. You just got up for the day, had a little bite to eat for Breakfast, said your Prayers, took any medications that you might need to take and then head off to your Computer to check Email for a bit, and then come post here in myLot.
You were originally planning on only being online until around 1 and then grabbing a bite to eat, do some chores around the house maybe, and then come back and post here again before it is time to think about dinner, your kids, or whatever for the evening as well.
But what seems to happen instead is you get so wound up and involved in posting here that you loose track of time, and next thing you know it is going on 4 or 5 p.m. and you are sitting there wondering where the time went as well. Personally this is about my life story most Saturdays on my day off, but it is usually worth it for me as well. Since I have met so many people here and learned so much it definately makes it worth while to be here.
So how do you keep yourself from loosing track of time, or do you set a timer or something to remind you of things, or have your husband or kids remind you as well?

1. ElicBxn (15632) | 3 months ago | ahh, the joys of being single!
Pretty much if I need to do something I'll drag my butt outta the chair and do it, but if I want to sit in front of the computer and not do anything else I can also do it!

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Well, I could spend a lot of my time when not working down here on the Computer but since I lead such a busy lifestyle anymore trying to get everything done it makes it quite hard at times for sure. But Glad to see you can do this.

ElicBxn (15632) | 2 months ago | yeah, but like I said, I do what I have to do and the rest of the time is my own - if I want to play games or to mylot, I can...

|
|
KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Yes, that is a plus, but since I don't have kids I am given a lot of my Free time to be on here as my husband appreciates the fact that I am also earning some extra $$ while being online as well.

ElicBxn (15632) | 2 months ago | I don't have kids either, and I only work part time - so I try to get stuff here

2. getbrowser (1425) | 3 months ago | I have met such a situation before just you have said above.
Sometimes, on the weekend, after getting up early and a hurry-up breakfast, then I will be addicted to the sea of myLot. Once I have post responses to friends on myLot, I will continue my action and it seems that there is no an end for ever. As the time flies, I have spent much time on myLot and forget to about it all. Even if I have set a alarm clock to remind me, I won't pay any attention to other things if I am enjoying a good time with friends here.
Usually, I will spend the whole day on myLot and don't do anything else.

3. tingtong (1478) | 3 months ago | it's happening to me these days, especially when i'm all alone at home. When my husband returns from work in the evening, I realize that I didn't have my lunch. Some days we get so involved here, we forget everything else. Happy lotting.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Well, I know what it is like to forget to eat as I have done this many times on my day off for sure, but since I am Diabetic I do have to try and make sure this does not happen too often or I could be making myself sick as well.

4. cyrus123 (1867) | 3 months ago | I have a clock on my computer. However, I still get busy here and lose track of time all the time. I enjoy mylot but it does take a lot of time to post on here, read the posts, respond to posts, etc. Before you know it, it is later than you think it is. I think both mylot and the computer are addictive. Kathy.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | That is for sure. And in reality, I often wonder how many of us even ever notice the Clock on our Computer? Most of the time I know I don't. I have a clock above my Computer which I seem to look at more. But I do often find when you really take time to spend time in here responding to discussions, etc. it does seem like a lot of times the time does seem to fly by while you are learning a lot here as well.

5. clorissa123 (3791) | 3 months ago | Well, I keep my track of time pretty well, and I seems don't have problem with the time. I need to keep it neat and I have to pay attention to the timer at my computer all the time. Because I am not just making money from mylot, I also made money from other sources as well. So, My time is valuable, and I have to keep track of it very well.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Yes, myLot is not the only place I am making some Extra $$ from either, but if I try to budget my time when online I feel I often make the Best use of my time here as well. But I also have to make sure that I get the other things I might need to get done as well, because loosing track of time here, or elsewhere is quite easy to do for sure.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Yes, I have been so busy mylotting from time to time I have forgotten to do other things I really should have been doing. I think sometimes we need to find ways with timers, etc. to remind us there are other things in life we should be doing as well.

7. cloudwatcher (3512) | 3 months ago | I spend many hours every day working at the computer in my voluntary work with a children's ministry. This is the work to which I am called and always has first priority on my time.
Every morning I re-prioritise my "to-do" list for the day, setting possible time factors for each task. Although I am out of bed before 5.00am each day, my list doesn't start until 8.30 - 9.00am. I am usually on myLot for an hour each morning, and if my list is finished, or if there are any gaps, I will spend more time here. I am seldom in bed before midnight, so I often have more time at night, provided my ministry work is ahead of schedule.
Yes, I admit, it would be easy to lose track of time while myLotting, but I watch the clock and discipline myself to keep on track.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Sounds like you have a Goal and plan and that can be a good thing for sure. I know from time to time I try to set some Goals and ideals on things I need to get done in life, or in here, and hope for the Best as well. But learning to discipline myself is something I could benefit from more for sure.

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | There are many of us here for sure that can truly say that myLot does seem like home to us, and that is one of the Best things as well. But I find coming back here day after day to be one of the Best things I can ever do to interact with others for sure.

9. UltimateAsoka (1173) | 3 months ago | Well, in my intial days in mylot, i did lose track of time while mylotting.I started sometime in morning and then as i turn on, i see its evening!I forgot even my lunch!I agree there were so many good discussions on that day and i could not lay hands away from them. But after this, i started to keep a specific time and specific number of discussions to be responded and discussed on a day.Well, that helps in keeping track of the time i have and left with .Besides responding to fewer responses, actually brings in more quality content.Maybe thats something most would agree. Thanks!

KrauseHome (13481) | 2 months ago | Yes, I do find for sure that it is never the quantity that brings in the Best of earnings in here. It is definately the Quality. But setting a Goal each day like you say you do is a Good goal to set.
