Should I visit my best friend during Thanksgiving?  | |  My best friend went to college 4000 miles away. I miss him and he says he's lonely there. I was thinking it would be a nice gesture to go spend Thanksgiving with him since he has no family or close friends. My family doesn't put too much thought into Thanksgiving so it's fine on that part, but then when I looked online, tickets were about 700 dollars. That's a little pricey especially since with the budget cuts to my university, the tuition would probably being going up. Very stressed out on subject...

Although you will miss out on your family dinner, im sure they will understand you but in my opinion, i would just write a letter or phone them up for two hours or something. family before friends is always me unless yo feel like this is a time when your BEST friend needs you.

That is a lot of money so if you don't wish to go you could perhaps send a Thanksgiving card. It would be excellent if you could go to see your friend that is feeling lonely. I suggest that you use the Internet to compare air fares, train fares and bus fares. Good luck.
