Do You Clean Your Computer Mouse??

I clean my mouse on every weekend. On wkly holiday morning, i clean the mouse and the keyboard. As i am a smoker, in between the keys of keyboard, many dusts hide. Thats why i maintain this cleaning schedule. Thank you.

These days I no longer need to clean my mouse because I use an optical mouse. I remember vividly, however, cleaning mice for hundreds of people who were astounded and grateful that their cursor worked so well after a few moments work!

It's better to use a fingernail or a wooden or plastic cocktail stick or something similar rather than a metal tool. The grime tends to mould itself into a ring around both of the rollers inside. They are very small and are not too difficult to damage if you use too much pressure. Once the grime rings are removed, tap the mouse on the bench and blow into it to remove loose particles.

Don't forget the ball, either. It's made of a heavy core with a hard rubber coating and grease and grime can make it shiny and less able to move the rollers reliably. It should be washed with soap (not detergent) and water, rinsed in clean water and dried with a soft, lint-free cloth. It's not advisable to use a spirit-based cleaner or, for example, carbon tetrachloride because this can damage the rubber.

Tow weeks ago,I have found my keyboard is very dirt so I decision to clearn it.
Later all the keys was I removed form the keyboard. I put all the keys to the basin used the water to rinse.Five minutes later,the key become more beautiful.
When I set up the key in the keyboard,it look like a new one.

yes i was doing this when i had my old mouse with balls....so often need to clean that balls and rollers from the mouse...so it can move freely...but now technology is changed...now I am using optical mouse...so no need to clean it....its working fine from 2 years...

Hi notlistening, I never clean my mouse ever, but then again I don't have one to clean. They were always such annoying creatures tripping over their own leads and running out of batteries. I wipe my touchpad down a bit when it gets sticky though.

Years ago, I still clean my mouse specially the ball and tracking roller. But now, I am using an optical mouse that do have any mechanical component inside that could be cleaned.
So, I have never clean my mouse after I am using new optical mouse.

I clean my mouse frequently but still gives me trouble. I like to play online pool with active members and my mouse shoots before I am ready. However, my mouse is about 10 years old so I may need a new one.

My hubby cleans mine for me. we clean it when it start working poorly like you mentioned. He uses rubbing alchohol with a cue tip works like a charm.

To keep your computer, mouse and keyboard working efficiently it is good to clean them out regularly. I use the spray cans of air. It blows out all the dust in a matter of seconds and all is working well again.

I use to clean my mouse as well as the mouse I use in office. I have noticed many time that my mouse gets dirty when I don't clean for weeks. If possible just see below the mouse, you will have 4 rubber buttons which will be fully covered by dirt. Just clean it to have a good sensor work else the sensor will not work properly.
