I just moved into a new place. Where can I get some cool abstract art?

I just got a super nice modern condo (great deal since real estate prices are really low in the US right now). So, since this is my first "real" place, I'm trying to decorate it really nicely. So far I've gotten some cool modern furniture, but I want some unique looking pieces of art for my walls. Where is a good place online to buy abstract art? I've been looking and I've found a few decent places (such as http://www.iloveabstractart.com/ ), but I'm not really sure what I should be looking for when it comes to a place to buy art online. Any thing I should definitely look out for? Actually, I just thought of a second question: how hard is it to just paint my own? That would definitely be unique, then! Is it hard, though? I've never really painted anything in my life before. Is it fun? Is it easy? Is it expensive? Thanks!
