Trying to keep up with the laundry...

Ack!! I feel you! I did not do laundry for 2 days and I have piles of it! To top it off I just ran out of laundry soap and we can't get anymore until late tonight. So it's done for the day and the loads will just have to wait until tomorrow again. Were running out of socks!
Can you not use a dryer instead of hanging them up? I know it's supposed to be earth friendly and saves on $ when you hang them out to dry, but a dryer really is much easier if only to catch up on all the piles.
Oh, and I feel you on the partner that doesn't put his garbage away or anything else for that matter.....

I don't have any children so of course I don't have as big a problem, but I to never seem to get all the wash done. Even when by some miracle I do before I turn around I have a basket full & sheets to wash. I don't understand why there always seems to be laundry to do. It's like a never ending cycle.

i so know the feeling. i find sometimes the kids dont put their laundry in the bin but keep it in their rooms so it just piles up then i have a ton of laundry to do! i DO have other things in life to do besides laundry ya know!

Oh I remeber having the same problem a few years ago.
Having no kids at home lightens the load, and we have 2 whirly things in the garden and I just hang the stuff out when its not raining and hope for the best.
We also have a room built on the side of the house and I often hang stuff up in there to dry as well.
We have a tumble dryer, but have not used it in 10 years.
I am really sorry to hear about your daughter though, and I hope its a phase that passes quickly.

i have that problem at the moment,i've done 3 loads of washing today,put 2 in the tumble dryer and the rest on the radiators,i've still got 2 loads left,but i've got no where to put it coz the tumble dryers on til i go to bed and the rads are full,so tomorrow i'll have 2 loads from today + 1 load from tonight,and the beds need changing

Woe! I know exactly what you mean and how hard it can be. I only have one child which is 20 months and a husband, but to let the truth be known, it literally feels like I have 2-3 kids running around.

I wash once a week but the laundry stacks up so quickly that it can go an extra round each week. What makes it so hard for me is that I suffer severe anemia that always seems to slow me down physically because of the aches and pain and the feeling of weakness that won't seem to go away.

At one time I would of went nuts, but now I just find reasons to laugh. The only time we hang up clothes in the house is when we don't have enough money to dry them at the washer. Yes we have to pay to wash, but that's okay though.

Awe, you poor dear. Perhaps you can just clean during the day, and at night, do the laundry. Towels last, so you can go to bed, and they can be folded in the morning. Good luck.

I know the feeling. I've got 3 children who just love to get as dirty in one day as they possibly can. My 3year old has also started to wet the bed again which is just a nightmare ( thinking about puttting her back in nappies for a while because its happening about 3 times a night). My partner just doesn't seem to care take today for instance he's working nights so this morning he gets up puts clean work clothes on but does'nt actually do any work just sits watching me doing the cleaning, laundry and cooking dinner all at the same time, after that he just gets up goes for a shower and dumps his what I would say were clean clothes in the wash basket along with 2 towels and puts on a new set.

I think its just one od them things unfortunatly and the pile wont get any smaller until the kids have left home and the men have been left to do their own.

I've had this problem for quite a while now. Before we moved into our own house, we lived at my mother's house and there were essentially three different families in one house sharing one washing machine and dryer. That meant that you weren't able to do the laundry whenever you felt like it. By the time we got to our own house, I had piles of stuff that never got through the washer because it was constantly being used. Now, I am finally making progress on everything. Of course, the most important things to make sure to keep clean are the children's clothes and my husbands clothes, so I am catching up albeit slowly but surely.

i used ot have this problem when my baby was born... i`m alone at my home... i mean, only with my baby, but i`m not married and my parent are in heaven.. and, to make it worse i had a c-section that keeps me in pain for one month... i have very sensitive skin... but then i started to make the laundry early morning, just one group per day... u know, one day white clothes.. other day color.. ect, i did spend more money on soap... but the diference is not that big... and i do not know if u know, but electricity and water cost less early morning...
