Yeah I for sure read the book AFTER seeing the movie if I really enjoyed the movie because more than likely, I know I will get a lot more from the story. I read "Silence of the Lambs" after seeing the movie and I loved the book. A couple others were "Memoirs of a Geisha","The Godfather", and "The Shining".

sure because more often than not, the movie is different from the book. i find that holly wood tends to take certain liberties with the book plot and also real life (look at the movie Titanic!)

Yes I do. I used to do it the other way around, read the book first before watching the movie but then I would have great expectations from the film. That is why I always hear people comment that the book is much better than the movie. This is what happened when I watched the Harry Potter films. Now I watch the movie first before reading the book. That way I would now have the idea what the story is about hence I could tell if I will like the book or not. This is what I did for the Twilight series. I watched Twilight first then bought the books.

I prefer to read the book before seeing the movie, but if I don't have the option to read it beforehand, then yes, I would still read it after seeing the movie. I enjoy comparing the two. It's always interesting to see how much better the book tends to be rather than the movie. Although if you read it after seeing the movie, it kinda puts the pictures in your head where as if you read it first, you have your own pictures in your head and then seeing the movie makes it seem not as good as what you imagined. At least that's how it is for me!

I sometimes read the book before or after seeing the movie. It's much better reading the book because it is more detailed and a lot of important scenes are not included in the movie.

Sometimes the book is netter than the movie or the other way roung. e.g The Da Vinci Code is a great enjoyable read but the film is a total bore. The Firm with Tom Cruise is a great film and so is the book which is like reading an extended bersion of the film!

sirestryder (22)  2 months ago

The reason the Da Vinci Code was better read than watched was because they couldn't fit all the content. When he told history of symbols the book could say it all. However, in the movie they can't show/tell you everything that's happening in their heads. If the whole book was literally make into a movie it would either be too long or become confusing.Another thing movies can't do is show long periods of time of what happened. For example, in Harry Potter their are many times where it say's they spent weeks or months doing things in school. The movie can't somehow show weeks going by while Harry Does things.

Hi Cutepink_13, I absolutely would read a book after the movie but usually I will read a book before because I love to read. I had read all the Harry Potter books before they came out, same thing with the Lord of the Rings. Details are so much more clearer and motivation for the characters than you would see in a movie. What they are thinking and events are explained. I have a vivid imagination so reading a book is like a movie in my head. I do get excited to see a movie after I have read the book just to see what they leave out or what special effects they put in!

I tend not to. I have a lot of things to do now and it seems that I only have little time for so many things. My two-day weekend seems not enough for attending to these things in the house. I still need to segregate those that are in the stockroom, give away things or throw them out of the house to free space. This weekend, I was happy with what I did. I changed the curtains (Christmas motiff) and I was able to sew one big round tablecloth for our dining table. Sewing is one of my favorite pastimes. happy

Hi, I would still read the book even if I've seen the movie. Chances are there would be a lot of things missing from the movie - can't expect 600-700 pages crammed into 1 - 2 hours show. But sometimes if I've read the book first, then I won't go for the movie!
