How to Store the Kids' Toys and Keep the House Clean? email this discussion to a friend?

I guess many friends here may have such an experience. If you have children, then your house will be full of various toys and it seems difficult to keep it clean.

Usually, if your house is large enough, designate a playroom for small children where they will have space to keep the toys confined and not spread through the whole house. But if they don't have enough space, what should you do if you have met such a situation too?

So, do you have some experience on how to store the kids' toys and keep your house clean? Any tips on how to control the toy explosion that makes your house in a mass?

One of the things I've learned is to keep a large, large toybox, for each one of the kids, so they will at least put the toys up in one certain place, and not scattered everywhere!
Also getting them in the habit of putting there toys up will lessen a lot of the parents work; for instance when playtime is over, put the toys up, when leaving the house, put the toys up, when getting ready for meals, put the toys up, at bedtime, put the toys up! If you get them in this habit, most of the times it will be automatic with them and they won't negate it as much!
When they become adults, there will be a good chance that they will always pick up after themselves!

Hello friend. Our son has a lot of toys and they are placed into big boxes. I think that a big box helps a lot to organize the toys. If there are some toys that the kid does not play with any more, we give it to kids of our brothers' and sisters'. This way, it makes the house nice and clean without those unwanted toys.

At first you should prepare some big boxes and make the kids put away the toys in the boxes by themselves.

hi friend, i have two little kids, and they have so much toys overthere, i keep them into a big bag and keep a side of the kids room, just tell them to keep it back after playing the toys, i know they won't listen but, try to teach them slowing they will definetly now your words. if you have chess board or board games, small small parts over there keep them into one almarh it will be safe. and the kids won't confuse which part is in which place, day by day i had experienced a lot about this.
thankyou for the topic, have a nice day.

Keeping these toys into a big bag is really a wise way to save some space and keep the house clean. Of course, it is very necessary to help the kids form a habit of keeping these toys back after playing the toys.

Thanks for your reply. Happy myLotting!

Hi browser,

Don’t ask me, I am fade up with this situation. After spreading the toys they don’t bother to play and they must doing something and just feel happy by spreading the toys in room. If we recollect the same and kept aside then they want to play again with the same toys. We don’t have many rooms and we can’t make a room for toys. lol If in a good they replace the toys in a bag or box after the play but mostly they are not doing the same.

A house cluttered with toys is indeed a pretty sight. As long as one does not trip and fall one should not bother. Care should be taken to see the child does not get injured while playing with the toys. You have not mentioned the noise some toys make and believe me you will miss it all once they grow up and you will want you house cluttered with toys. You will want your house filled with that jarring sound those would make. You can collect them all when the child goes to sleep.

We have several large rubber boxes that we use for my grandson's toys. We have a netting that we pinned in a corner of his bedroom and use that to put his stuffed animals in. We give rewards for picking up all toys and putting them in the boxes. We have one upstairs in his room and one down in the living room where he is allowed to play as long as he cleans up any toys.

This is also my problem with my kids, since they don't have a playroom, I make them clean up after they're done playing. But this is not always the case since either me or my wife will end up cleaning the living room. I guess, I just have to wait until they all grow up. Cheers!
