Leaving the house without makeup

We are in complete agreement on that one! I haven't worn makeup in nearly a decade or more and back then it was an occasional thing like an accessory for an evening out.

In college I reduced it to lipstick, powder and eyeliner but even that became too much of a bother. When I would go on a job such as movie extra work or a commercial I would take my own base but I don't even do that stuff anymore.

Did you ever paint your face?

I have wore make-up a handful of times in my whole life and I just dont care for it
I find it pointless and a waste of time
I am just not the type of person that needs people to approve of how I look or dress

I think most women wear it because they think they are supposed to. They don't know how to appreciate themselves without it.

What? YOU don't wear makeup? Oh my, a cavewoman with no face paint. I don't know what to say about this. Things must be pretty primitive over there.

HEHEHE. Speaks miles of my personality. Very primitive before berries ground for color in face paint. Don't wear jewelry or makeup. Went through a phase as a teenager when I did. Guess we all have weak moments. LOL I believe in natural beauty and just aging naturally. I will use lotion because I have very dry skin and if I don't I would itch like crazy. LOL

I think everyone wants to do it as a teen because it makes you feel older.

I certainly don't need it now then. LOL

Okay, well that one picture you looked like you were a teenager and the other you looked like you were in your late 20's. Obviously, if you think you need make up you are trying to make yourself look older. It's a gift to look that young so show it off.

That's good. I don't think I would either. Don't know because I don't have that problem. LOL

So last night I am at this bar for Opera on Tap and this woman asks me if someone standing next to me, who by the way, looks nothing like me, is my mother. I say "she isn't that old." So the woman says I have to be in my early twenties!

Obviously she needs glasses.

HAHAHAHA. I want your problem! LOL That is too funny. I guess you better not wear any makeup, or maybe put it on so thick no one can see that you don't have wrinkles. LOL I have a friend who is 55 and she can pass for late twenties early 30s.

I just don't get it. I look in the mirror and I look 40 to me. Some days I look 50! After the storm when I was finally on my way home I passed the mirror in the bathroom at Chick-fil-A and I thought I looked 80! Then I saw a friend a while later and she said I looked even younger!

It could be worse. Everyone could tell you you look older than dirt and their grandmother is in better shape than you. See it could be a lot worse!

My friend that looks young who is in her fifties has MS. She tries to stay in shape. Anyway, I know she is at least 5 ft 4 and if the woman is a size eight, I would be surprised. She always dresses nice too. It's rare that I see her in an "everyday" outfit. Anyway, I bet she doesn't weigh 120 pounds. So one day she told me she has to go on a diet. She doesn't want to weigh so much because the more she weighs the harder the ms will be for her to deal with. I told her she should cut her hair. It's no use telling someone that is almost twice your size that you need to go on a diet. They aren't going to be very empathetic. LOL

I went over last year, it was cold and her dog had thick fur. She was upset because the dog was fat. How we manage to stay friends I will never know. She really is the sweetest person. She has a lab and the dog strikes me as being really furry compared to most of the labs I have seen or had. Anyway, I said wow she's big. She started yelling at me for calling her dog fat. I laughed and told her I didn't say the dog was fat. I told her all of it was her winter fur and asked what was wrong with her. She told me everyone else told her the dog should lose weight. I told her to shave her. LOL

That is so hilarious. That could have been a scene in a really funny movie. You should keep a journal of stuff like that so you cn work it all into a script one day!

That's why you change all the details and keep things general, lol!

Even if I did that someone would be upset because they would just assume it was about them and it would be someone off in left field that had nothing to do with it. LOL

Well everyone you know is going to make that assupmtion anyway, even if you made up everything and set the story in China!

Ah great! Then everyone would want a commission or something. LOL Well, if I did it in china I guess I would save on costs of production if it were made into a movie. Everything would be less expensive even the makeup for the performers. LOL

If I set the story in China and it became a movie. I wasn't going to do anything in China. I would get arrested. LOL I think if I wrote something and it was turned into a movie, I would have to get involved though. LOL

You obviously don't know how the movie business works. Once you write it and it is optioned you no longer have a say. Now if you can become Stephanie King or JV Rowling, you might get a vote, ha ha!

HEHE. If I sold it to make a movie there would be a stipulation in the contract that I could take over and change things at my discretion. LOL That's why nothing of mine would ever sell! I am a control freak.

In that case you had better stay out of the movie business. You would go nuts with the kinds of changes they like to make. There is a scene in this movie, "Love and Other Disasters," where this guy lucks out and gets to take a meeting with a big time Hollywood honcho and every change the guy says he's trying to get him to see why it's important to the story to go the way he has it written and the honcho says "I understand... this is your baby. Well you know what you gotta do? (and he screams) You gotta kill your baby!" In other words, write it and let it go.

LOL. But, that's only if you are good enough to do that. I live in somewhat reality and I know I won't be writing a movie script any time soon. LOL I have other things I am still working on. LOL

Believe it or not, writing is the easy part and there is software that will automatically format it for you. It only takes 15 pages (that is the limit) and we could have a script easily from one of our discussions (think about some movies out there). It's the getting it produced part that is hard.

BTW, writing for TV is very different.

LOL. You can take our chats and submit them. If you become rich and famous just throw me some money. We can continue our typing and make more than what we do off of any of the sites. LOL We can say it all started with myLot.

I loved writing plays in school. One year we did it in groups and we had a skit inside of a skit. It turned out great.

See, if you can write plays you can write for Tv!

LOL. It was for school so we didn't have to be specific in the directions because we were the ones performing it. We basically wrote our lines and put some general instructions for the performers in it not like what you would have to do to be professional.

Honey, that is what TV and film scripts are like. The director fills in the rest of the details.

All the writer does is dialogue? Well, that's too easy. Okay, I am sure you know someone or know how to do it, so start changing some of these posts into money. LOL

I'll take thirty percent, but I am sure you can talk me lower. LOL

Dialogue is the most important part. There are some visual things that you need to include but you can just say "Opening: We see a dirt road with seemingly nothing for miles..." and then talk about the camera moving in and eventually a house or shack coming into view, etc.

I have had ideas for years but the thing for me, just like writing fiction, was stringing it all together in a complete story that has a beginning middle and end. after hanging out with some film people last year I realized I can do it, I just have to be able to carve out time to get it done and not get distracted.

Someone had a sketch that they wanted blown up into a script but I could not relate to his characters. I had a great idea for approaching the story and I may draft it anyway and pitch it to him as a cultural alternative as there are many films that are cultural remakes of others out there.

"Tortilla Soup" and "Eat Drink, Man Woman" are both the same film. One has an Asian family and one a Latin. There are a lot of Indian versions of American films, American versions of others... it goes on and on.

I knew you knew the right people. All you have to do is chisel some time in for your script and send it in. LOL If you write one I'll write one. Show them mine first, they will get their rejection out of the way and then they will have to say yes to yours.

If I didn't have a sense of humor I would be sitting in a rubber room crying on playing with my lips. I've thought about it alot. That might actually be a good vacation for me. LOL

I have tried to get one of those; they don't take you when you want to be there.

It is true it really can be quite time consuming to go through all of the cleansing and toning and moisturizing and concealing and the foundation and lipstick, blusher, and eye makeup. Wait, did I get everything? Whew, who wants to work that hard?

You are so funny. Unless someone looks like one of those awfully wrinkled dogs I don't think they need to worry about a few creases around the eyes.

It is so humid here that if you pile all that stuff on your face you want to scrape it off with your finger nails. I don't know how women walk around with all that stuff on all day!

I would feel humidity would make me sweat, or atleast feel balmy and then the makeup would run or smear or cake... and then there'd be washing it off and reapplying... to much of a hassle!

You could never fall asleep with all that stuff on either. Removing mascara and eye makeup is no picnic!

I've fallen asleep with blush or mascara on before. This actually reminds me of an episode of The Nanny where Fran falls asleep with her makeup on, actually in Maxwell's bed on the night before his birthday, where Niles comes in to Maxwell's room, find them then leaves. Then he see's CiCi, tells her that he loves being woke up with breakfast, and hence she goes up, opens the drapes and screams as she sees Maxwell with Fran...

The rest of it really makes no difference, the only thing I meant is that she had lain on his pillow and smeared makeup that would never come off!

I was just thinking about that show recently though I don't remember why. Fran was on TV a few days ago.

P.S. Makeup comes out with hairspray but you can't put whatever the item is in the dryer unless it completly comes out or it will become permanent.

Fran the actor? I think I saw her on something. She sounds so different though her nasal tone was fake I believe.

Yep!

Fran's voice is deeper with age, like most people's. It's still nasal though they probably exaggerated it on tv.

the snippet I saw of her I don't remember if she was nasally or not. I wonder how she stopped being nasal for one second in that one scene with the wasabi?

I guess that's true. I didn't think of that. I remember a nasally sounding lady at the bank my grandfather has his safety deposit box at. It was always funny listening to her as a child but I think she scared me too. She was the only one I knew of that had a voice like that.

She may also have had surgery that could have inadvertantly corrected or altered the problem in some way.

The older I get the more I am into comfort, lol. I will wear my pj's too if I am going through the drivethrough!

Makeup is fine as a fashion accessory but there are times when it is not convenient or too time consuming to put on or take off and your skin breathes better without it so I just don't bother anymore.
