How Can a Mother do this to Her Own Children?

Of course she is insane - no sane person would kill anyone much less their own children. I do not understand this behavior. A lot of crimes I can kind of understand how they originated or how things got out of control and resulted in a crime. But the premeditate murder of one's own children is totally beyond my ability to even begin to understand. I would think that I would kill other people to keep them from harming one hair on my children's head. So to consider any situation that would cause me to do the opposite - I just can't imagine.

the thought of anyone especially a mother being capable of killing a two year old is so disgusting it makes me queasy. i mean i never really liked kids before i had mine and i may have threatened a few to get them to leave me alone but id never do anybody's child much less my own and kind of harm. what i really want to know is why she felt that she had to take her little ones with her and why she was planning on killing herself and then chickened out after destroying a defenseless child's life.>. < this makes me so angry RAR

She probably be insane if she had not been so careful, with pretending to visit her mother, or using duct tape. I do have two explanations. Some women hate men, and even their own male children. You might call it ultra feminism, but that cannot be proved unless she also had a little girl and choose to make sure the girl was out somewhere, either at school or a nursery. The second one is that she resented getting pregnant in the first place and did not want an abortion because she figured that if she had, people would think bad of her. In other words, she was a sociopath or psychopath. Not matter what explanation, she is evil.
If she were insane, she would not have used duct tape, but slashed the children, screaming, and made an insane attempt to slash her own throat or she would have tried to drive the van into traffic. She would not have been that careful. She planned to well.
I hope the father gets custody. I do wish there were a death penalty and I would consider this more of a hate crime then that signed by Obama.

You see stuff like this all the time. Mothers drowning her children, fathers shooting their families. I can only think that at some point they are so out of control that they are no longer in touch with what they are actually doing. I'm not saying that their not responsible for their actions only that they stop realizing simple things like "Hey, I'm killing my baby". These ppl really need to taken out of society all together b/c if their sick enough to kill their own children what would stop them from killing anyone else.

It's unnatural for a mother to cause harm to her child. Therefore we know that some has gone terribly wrong..I dont havethe answer just speculation. Mothers instincts are to protect their young at all cost.. It also saddens me when I see the "mother instinct" in simply not there.
God help any child who is harms way...

I'd have to agree with you on that one, with how can a mother do that to their own child and kill them. I also agree that she must be insane or something. And now for the fact that she has to live with it for the rest of her life, that she killed one of her children and also that she tried killing the other one. I think that that is sad that a mother could do that. People like these does not deserve to have children in my opinion.

I think that she is sick.I have 6 children and there is no way i would ever do anything like that to a child or to an adult.If she did not want the children any more she could have dumped them at a friends a doctors or even at a hospital.Think how that child must have been suffering as well as scared the pain as well,trusting a person,their own mother who should love them for hrer then to turn on them like that.Did she say why she did it?

yes this mother is definitely insane. no mother in her right mind would be able to do this. she may be under the influence of illegal substances that is affecting her brain.

even if a mother is having a really difficult time raising her children and she has no money to buy food for her children, she still would not be able to do this if she is in her right mind.

Obviously there is something mentally wrong with this mother. To even think thoughts of killing your own kids isn't quite normal. I hope she is treated, in therapy and also spends plenty of time in jail or prison. We all tell our kids when they are teenagers that we are going to kill them but nobody means it literally. It's just a figure of speech. These stories make me so upset. I could never imagine life withour our kids. They mean the world to me.
