Cheese... Let us know the types of cheese that your country produces | | In another posted discussion of mine, I found out, that most countries, have special types of cheese. A fellow in MyLot, asked how many types of cheese actually exist. So, let's find out. Please, write your country and the types of cheese that do exist. But only the ones that your country produces. Not the ones that you can find in stores. In Greece: Feta: in many flavours like picant, light, saulty, plain, normal, unsaulty, sweet, sour and gender like creamy, hard, semi-hard, soft, cubic, etc... It's a white cheese, actually very fatening, no matter how light they say it can be. It's used in many foods we Greeks cook, like most of our salads, pies, fried, spaghettis, canellonia (type of them of course) etc
Kaseri: as previously. It's a yellow type of cheese, that melts and it's usually found in toasts, pizzas, spaghettis, salads like ceasar's salad etc.

One of the most popular cheeses in the United States is Cheddar Cheese, it is a nice flavorful cheese that is slightly hard but melts really well. We eat it whole, we shred it for recipes, and we melt it over things such as nachos, slice it and eat it with crackers. It comes in regular, sharp, and extra sharp.
Also we have American cheese that mainly comes in slices and is used mostly on sandwhiches cold or melted. It is most popular on hamburgers to turn them in to cheese burgers.
But I could go on all day about all of the cheeses that we have and use here frequently, I just had a slice of swiss cheese about 20 minutes ago.
