Do you know how to change a flat tyre??? |
|
I haven't yet changed changed a flat tyre. Once the tyre got flat and fortunately my friend knew how to do it, so it was done.
I have got my fair bit of theoretical knowledge, that I have to put in the jack, bring in the stepney, and remove the screws diagonally and finally fit in the spare tyre.
Have you ever done it yourself? Any funny incident you remember doing it? Or are you waiting still that once it happens then I will come to know about it? Do you call the helpline if you have got it flat? Share your experiences.
P.S. I am gonna do it for myself this weekend.

You also want to be sure to have a good Jack that won't let the car down while you are in the middle of changing a tire or getting under the car for that matter. I put the nuts back on too tight one time when my wife went to see her folks. For some reason her father tried to take a tire off and couldn't get the nuts loose but you want to be sure to get them tight enough or they may come off like my did after I let someone else put the tire on. Many a person has lost the tire off their car while driving down the road.

Thank you very much for your valuable input. There would always be this risk if the responsibility is on a green horn. I would bear your advice, and thanks again.

I am not quite sure whether I would be able to do it. But it is better to learn it or else I might be stranded someday.

5. hellcowboy (4861) | 2 months ago | I know a lot of people have had to deal with flat tires, and I have never had to deal with a flat tire myself, and I have never had to change a flat tire, but I am pretty sure I know how to do it,and could if I had to,and I have seen a friend change a flat tire, and I have also seen people on television change a flat tire, and I am sure that one day me and my wife will have to deal with a flat tire, and hope when we do I will be ready, even though it will hopefully not be anytime soon.

bodhisatya (552) | 2 months ago | I hope and pray too that I don't have to go through that ordeal. It is cumbersome. Thats why I check my tyres regularly and see to it that the pressure is ok. I have had recently criss-crossed my tyres after I completed 10000 kms.

hellcowboy (4861) | 2 months ago | I am glad that u check your tires regularly and I would not wish a blown tire on my worst enemy, because it is not fun,and I know my parents always check the tires, and I know when me and my wife get a car we will always check the tires so we can make sure they are in good shape.

8. seekers (151) | 2 months ago | I haven't tried to change one but Ive seen it done. It's difficult but I want to learn how in case of emergency and if no one is around to do that for me. But if you have a chance to ask for an experienced person to do that, the better.

But if I did I would probably call AAA because my best friend has that and so does my gurlfriend. Also at one point I let someone borrow my jack and I am not really sure if I ever did get it back or not.

bodhisatya (552) | 2 months ago | Hey Kittykat,
I was really wondering why the spell check was showing it as a misspelling. I guess its just out of habit that I spell "tyre" insead "tire". like "colour" instead "color"
So who was the one who borrowed your jack and won't return it? What if something happens to your "tyres"?
Although I pray that doesn't happen.
Bodhi

| kittykat7983 (24) | 2 months ago | I am not really sure who borrowed it but I think it is possible it was returned or was in my gurlfriends car because I think I remember letting her borrow it once but then we had it in her car. That was her old car so I am not positive if it ever did get put back into my car or not and it is way too much work for me to check right now cus my trunk is full of recyclables at the moment. I am sure I will get the chance to check if its there or not and if not I will have to replace it because if it wasn't put back then it's probably long gone lost to who knows where.
