Is Credit Worth It?  |

 Sure it is nice to be able to swipe a card and get all the things we want or need.But is using credit cards really worth it?
Paying only the minimum payment will almost double the orginal amount you owe.
Do we really need things as bad as we think we do?

| 1. Ripple555 (25) | 2 months ago |  Credit cards are only worth it if you plan on paying them off before you are changed interest to use them. I use a home depot credit card to get the no interest for 12 months and pay it off before that time. It comes in real handy when buying big items like a dishwasher. It is worth it to me when I don't have the cash for a broken item that needs replaced.

They helped me out when my husband lost his job and the only way to pay the bills and put food on the table was with my credit cards but now that we are back on track paying these cards off have been very difficult to do.. I say if possible stay away from them

| erikmama (2006) | 2 months ago | There are certain times when situations arrive and one is thankful for the cards no matter how much they would havee to repay,and I can understand that 100%.
I have gotten in trouble with credit cards myseld.I know I am not responsible enough to have one,so I use the prepaid ones now.(Plus my credit is not so good).
It is so easy to get in debt and so hard to get out.

I've never gone over my limit, I always pay off a lot more than the minimum payment, I just use it sort of as a cash advance when I'm waiting for funds to clear into my account, and lately to juggle bills as I can't afford to pay them all straight away. I don't like being in debt but as long as I'm in control of the card, and not the other way round, its ok.

Something like lay a way is much better,even putting the money into a savings account .Imagine outting the interest you would pay into a savings account.You would have the item in not time!I think a credit card is just as bad as going to a rent to own place or something.It is crazy.My credit was messed up with them! | |

They have to of course pay off the balance but they are not allowed to be used anymore. The world has gone back to cash only all credit cards are gone for good. Wouldn't that be great. If you don't have the money you can't buy it, Period! Then people would not continue to live above their means.
