Yes it is really true one of my cats recieved a letter through the post today!! Typed addressed and a stamp in the corner of it! Wow it was so werid to see a letter on the doorstep addressed to my cat...... lucky cat as that was all the mail we received today!! The letter was from the vet's to say that he needs to go for his booster vaccination and health check and to call to make an appointement for it. I'm such a bad mother to him as I don't even know if my cat can read!!!! LOL Or even if he can pick the phone up and make the appointment, or even if he could take himself to the vets etc etc...... only joking. Has your cat ever had a letter through the post.... or anything else simaliar to this?

I don't recall the post card being addressed specifically to the cat. But we do get the reminder post cards. Though I want to recall an episode of the Simpsons where their dog gets a credit card Bart goes to town shopping with it. Funny I didn't know dogs could read or sign their names either... *LOL*

if only your cat could read,s/he will remind you about her/his shots.it's cute, though.a letter addressed to you cat.maybe next time s/he will receive a card.it could be from another cat,an admirer.or,s/he may be receiving a package,a gift from an admirer.

Sounds hilarious. I guess, it may be a way to keep the owner reminded to make appointments with the vet instead of waiting till ur vet sends a letter to ur CAT for second time Great.. Even animals receiving letters...

so the vet thinks your cat is more likely to remember the appointment than you are? that is hilarious.

lol...thats funny. the cat is probably thinking 'of COURSE I can read, human! Don't you know us cats are cleverer than you lot?!' I have found with my cat that what you really need to watch out for is when kitty learns to use your credit card and shop online. I'm going to have to make my cat get a job to pay off her bills she keeps running up. I tried to bring her up properly - where did I go wrong?!

Yes we get notices from the vet when our dog needs his shots. It is addressed to the dog and seems rather silly but guess it's their way of making the postcard personal. Teach your cat to drive..lol You could be a rich woman. We did get a sympathy card from our vet after we had our cat put to sleep the beginning of this year. It was so sweet and made me cry. Was signed by all the employees.

I have 2 vets. My regular one is not expensive and they don't send reminders. The other one, that I take the cats to for things beyond the capacity of the regular vet does send reminders. Probably part of WHY they are so expensive!

Yes, My dog used to receive mail, a catalog with her name on it from a pet supply place. She never looked at it though - think it was because she didn't have any thumbs and found it hard to turn the page. On a funnier note, I did have one dog who did answer the phone one time when I called my house. We had just moved in and the phone sat on the floor as we didn't have much furniture set up yet. I was calling my roommate to come and pick me up- only he had already left. I heard the phone ring a couple times then nothing.. so i said Hello, Hello.. and to my surprise my dog started whining back and getting all excited that mommy was on the phone.. So I stopped and talked to her for a while.. lol when My roommate arrived I told him what happened. And he thought I was making it up until we arrived home and there was the phone off the hook... she must have pawed at it when it rang. I think she knew it was me on the other end and just wanted to talk to me.. :) She was special that way!

My dogs get letters from their vet all the time. The vet sends "them" reminders on vaccinations. She also sends them birthday cards. Sometimes, they will get coupons and birthday cards from PetSmart. I think it is so funny that they get more birthday wishes than I do.

LOL, I can't have pets in my apartment, but yes, my dog used to receive appointment and innoculation reminders on post cards addressed to him ... I though it was adorable! I'd write them on the calendar and then let the dog have them. He hid them, the way he sometimes hid treats "for later." Maybe he read them after I'd gone to bed?? Karen

Lol, that is hilarious. I have actually received a letter for my cat as well and it was basically for the same thing to get their vaccines and stuff. But wow, to call in and make a appointment. Lol, got your joke.

hello anne18, they should have put it with the owners name, must been a real VIP thing for the cat. i wish mine would receive something like that so that i would reason for my mom to provide me with financial support for my cat. must have been cool your cat is personally reminded of the appointment she/he must take. come to think of it, i haven't send my cat to the vet since I've adopted her, i hope when i do have the money
