 If I have to build a custom pc, mainly for gaming, some cad works and other general office needs which is the better processor of the two to be used??

Comparing to AMD CPU, Intel CPU have better support for complex graphices calculations, but the AMD CPU would be relatively cheaper, depending on your situation, I suggest you choose Intel dual-core CPU and Nvidia graphics card for your game.

Go to the website of your main board and ask for a device compatibility advice, but I guess the AMD is also suitable for your daily work and your rocking games, cuz you have a strong graphics card.
