How coked up was this guy?

A man gave himself a Hydrofluoric Acid enema whilst coked up.

I have to ask; how coked up does one have to be in order to do that in the first place? I mean this guy had to get some of his lower intestine removed at the hospital.

Even if he used a very low concentration of it the reason that HF is ridiculously dangerous compared to other acids is due to the ffact that HF is readily absorbed through the skin and can cause systemic flouride poisoning. Even at low concentrations it can do a massive amount of damage to the skin and bones while producing little to no pain.

It can definitely cause burns in higher concentrations. But the danger of it is how readily it bonds with calcium. OSHA reccomends that any person who works with HF readily has a tube of calcium gluconate on hand just in case you get a couple drops on the skin and if there's a possibility of any exposure to get thee to a hospital!

Honestly the OSHA training you have to do when you work with the stuff is so frightening that most modern day chemists try to stay away from it when at all possible.
