Do you think bagle bites are a healthy dinner choice for an eight year old? |

Just wondering what you think of this. It seems lately my sister has been feeding my neice this for dinner. Not every night but often enough. I myself dont think its that healthy. Please comment on this thanks.

2. cher913 (13846) | 2 months ago | well, i find that at that age, kids are pretty fussy. my daughter went through a stage where she would only eat granola bars for breakfast (the ones with the chocolate chips) and then a stage where she hated bread (try and make a lunch for that!) so hopefully, this too shall pass.

caroll30 (1099) | 2 months ago | NO one thing she is not is LAZY. she is a single mom and works 45 hours a week. i think its lack of money for a good meal thats what i think but she is not lazy.

| tambrerocks (94) | 2 months ago | Really, she needs to put her child's health on her priority list. If she works that much she is also not giving her child her time. I understand the problem I was also a single mother. I lived to regret all the time lost, the junk food, and not putting in the extra effort to give my children what they really needed.

5. wlee9696 (382) | 2 months ago | I don't think it hurts a kid to have an unhealthy meal once a week. Of course he/she can't eat that way everyday. But bagel bites for an occasional dinner isn't going to hurt anything. It's like candy on the holidays. Every child should be allowed to gorge themselves on candy three days a year - Halloween, Easter and Christmas. You might have to stop them from eating so much they get sick but you would be surprised how much that is. I always let my kids have "whatever" dinner once a week. Meaning whatever they wanted to eat the night was fine.

7. Kashmeresmycat (1363) | 2 months ago | Hmmmm, no, not every night I wouldn't think. Maybe she could put some cheese pieces on it or make teeny pizza's with some meat and cheese? You know, kind of dress them up a little bit with other foods on top. Or at least have some fruit on the side?

8. carolbee (6801) | 2 months ago | Bagel bites alone is probably not enough but she could add some pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese and make it a pizza bagel. Our kids use to do this years ago and loved them. They did use real bagels or french bread. The bagel bites I have seen at the stores are full of sodium.

9. muscles4me (9143) | 2 months ago | That seems to be more of a snack. Maybe she should add some carrot sticks and a galss of milk to it and a sliced apple for desert.
