You point of view is also a dimension of this discussion . But if as you have said I ever asked you then it is go more close to insulting than joke.

I think inocent sense of humour with witty is joke. But if it anyway catch the character of voulgure then it will be something like insult.

yes, it CAN be vulgar, You must choose your audience carefully, You cannot say vulgar things in a joking way to just anyone, Sometimes a man can tell that joke to a man friend he knows well, but if he tells it to strangers to perhaps a woman, it will NOT be appreciated every time.

It is said that don't joke with them who has not ability to take the taste of humor.

Many time it is seen that improper placement of joke ended in quarrel. But this is an another matter. My question is who can joke is the joker. Or joker have any other spcl quality. If who can joke is a joker. Then why humorous people not like that some one say them joker.

I am thinking of it this way..
if I have a good sense of humour and I make you laugh, you can think I am funny but if you call me a joker, perhaps you offend me, because I am trying to say serious things about life, about me, about other things, but my way is to use humour so you are relaxed AND So I am relaxed because maybe I am uncomfortable otherswise to say just what I want to.

BUT if you say I am a joker, you are not taking me seriously. And THAT is what I need you to do.. to take what I say seriously,even if I make you laugh.

There are three types of lough making deed. Witty, humor and vulgar. Sense of humor is witty. Light talk is humor and dirty and meaningless effort to make lough is vulgar. I agree that serous type of lough making deeds too there are that is called serio-comic. But this can't cover the answer. No one what to be called joker but like to joke. Are you want to meant that?

A 'joker' is a person who enjoys telling or playing jokes .. NOT the same things as having a little fun. You reallly cannot say that one who is just joking with us is a JOKER. it is not the same thing.

Jokes are made up stories with a funny ending to make you laugh. Not all jokes are so funny and so clean or kind either, but that is what being a joker is.

If I just 'fun joke' with you it is just a word or something that we both laugh about.. not a story or not a trick.. see the difference?

I am unanimously agree with you that no and accept him to be called joker. And we should not say any one joker if he is no professionally indulged with it. other wise it may create a calamitous situation.

Hi fjaril, and reeyan, this is something I've spent hours analyzing. Basically, I am a sensitive person. We all have some drawbacks we are not comfortable with. We expect others not to cut jokes on that. As I read somewhere, if the person apologizes after accidentally uttering something jocularly, with the words "sorry" then it was essentially a joke, and even sensitive people can brush it off. But if the person uses the words "I was just joking" - that can annoy! After all, it is not a matter for joking. That - is the difference. If an explanation is offered then the so called joke was meant to ridicule, if instead an apology is offered, it was truly a joke. So anybody who retaliates when ridiculed, is in right.

This is why it is said that don't joke with them who has not the sense of humor. And it is said that it is the best joke that some one joke about himself. If in any joke I make myself the center of the joke I think no one will be hurt.

And the commonly speaking line "I am joking is nothing but to lighten a matter that is placed wrongly." Who use this line is basically have said those line not in joke but when he see that he has said some thing not acceptable then he use this line in self protection.

But I too agree with you that it is not right to joke if there any doubt of acceptability.

Yeas you go through the right concept about joker. Noble way to just entertain with some silly talk or deed is joking. But the innocence must needed there. Any insult or instigation if added then it changed its character. It's hard to keep oneself on the boundary of the decent approach. If ever it crossed it turned to vulgar.

So I think we should not say any one joker if he is not involved any professional joke making entertainment. Because use of the word to any person may occurs calamities.

I am completely agree with your view. All the meanings are contextual. And to say some one a joker is I think little uncultured manner. No one can accept this word. People joke loving mentality is another matter but we should not say any one joker.
