Former president Jimmy Carter went down in history as a dud, do you think after Obama's term in office Jimmy Carter will take second place?

But then he had the economy, too, with dismal 20% interest rates on loans, etc. I don't think Obama will be that bad if we get off our butts and participate in the governing process. But he's not making a very good start, he hasn't really done anything but spend money we don't have and we keep losing jobs.
I think he'll turn out to be an average, run of the mill placeholder till our next Reagan comes along.

3. Pitgull (1064) | 1 month ago | Maybe you should pay attention to what these Presidents have actually done, instead of paying attention to only what the media covers.
It sounds like you mistake kindness for weakness. Jimmy Carter's ambitions were to help people in this country and around the world, instead of grow the war machine and enflame angers in the Middle Eastern World--more than they already were.
Remember, when the Iranian Hostage Crisis took place, in which Iran was going through their revolution, the Islamic fundamentalists where ousting the American-puppet shah of Iran that was raping and pilaging the Iranian people for over 20 years. Carter didn't simply "Bombs Away, let's kill the all" because he already understood the American resentment in the region, and was compassionate to the fact.
People tend to think that Presidents that are bullies and interfere in other countries domestic policy are not ethically, nor morally good presidents. They are made out to be so by the biased media that is the outlet that we have.
So before you start calling Carter a dud, the top of the list as far as duds go is George W. Bush. And if you want to talk about completely damaging the integrity of the United States of America, none by far have compared.
Oh, and by the way, both President Obama and Jimmy Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pose123 (5758) | 1 month ago | Hi Pitgull, It's good to see someone take a different view. Although Jimmy Carter had a difficult time as president, he was without doubt one of the finest men ever to hold that office. Obama too has taken office at a very difficult time but no matter who was President right now, they would have a difficult time. I feel that if anyone can things around it's Obama. Jimmy Carter in held in high regard today by many who seek world peace. Blessings.

If not that then they will utterly destroy our economy and make our constitution worthless. It seems Obama is on a path of US destruction, but he isn't a one man crew. He has the backing of elected officials we put in office. If we are able to stop the destruction then I think he will take first place for the worst president in history. Which is hard to do because there was never a bigger joke than Jimmy Carter.
