being dumped

well as the old saying goes, love is blind, if we love someone we don't see things like that coming, i have been in a few relationships where i have ended it but i have gone back but it has ended after a few months, the damage was already done and couldn't be mended no matter how hard we have tried, i have been dumped before and the man would want me back after a few months, but i learned that if i do go back, he's likely to do it again, plus they dump us for a reason so that means they don't want us...right? so why should we want to go back to a person what doesn't want us in the first place....

You know Tatty, I had no idea at all, that is what just about killed me. You think there would have been signs or something but nothin'. That's what I get for marrying somone younger than myself. It was great while it lasted but then boom, the rug was pulled out from under me. I never knew and I wish I would have had some sort of clue or idea. Oh well, that was a long time ago and I hope he's rotting somewhere, lol!

well it seems that your over him now, i was the same, everyone els eknew but me, and like you...BOOM, the rug thing....it did kill me for a while but when i thought about it, i thought F-U, your loss, he doesn't deserve me, so i gave up, it hurt but i was over it when i realised that singledom was much better.

oh i hae made the mistake of "giving it another go" and regretted it, now i would never go back to the same old sitiation, i have been dumped and was asked back but i think this person was just feeling sorry for himself because he couldn't fina another woman to use, i did go back in the past but i wised up, now i think about it, i would never go back to someone who dumped me, because i wouldn't be able to trust them again...when it's over, it's over for good.

yeah but if they kept doing it then it would become too emotuonal, this happened to me where i did go back then a few months later he didn't wanna know, but because i was into him at the time, i went back, after about the 3rd time, i gave up because he was playing games with me, i guess if it was a stupid argu,ent then that would be fine, we all need time out, but if they continued to play with your feelings, would you go back?

Absolutely no way. I'd probably have to think hard about going back once unless, like I said it was over something trivial. If I took someone back and they played game I'd end it at the first sign.
I was once dumped via text on valentines day because she "felt like the relationship was going nowhere" but later that day she put it down to her being in a bad mood at the time and wanted me back. I considered it for a few days then decided to get back with her but she gave out signals that this would be a regular thing so I dumped her in favour of being single without hassle.

yeah that's what happened to me, i was being messed about so much, in the end i gave myself a good telling off and decided that i was a fool to allow it, so i didn't do it any more, as you know i am not one to be messed with so if someone dumps me now it's for good, i will not crawl back to someone who doesn't want me, i promise myself he will not dump me again because i won't go back next time....as the old saying goes, if they do it once, shame on them, if they do it twice, shame on me....

I know you've always been strong minded, I remember that from when I was a kid lol, no one messed with you more than once.

that's true, when someone rejects you like that, your esteem drops to rock bottom, i have gone back into a relationship after being dumped in the past, but now i would never do it again, i am much older and much wiser, staying single for me is working out just fine right now, i wouldn't waste my time and energy on someone that wasn't true to me.

lol so it would only be as payback...LOL....love it.. ..no seriously, i agree, i mean he was with someone else so soon after you broke up, so he must have already had someone on the sidelines for when you broke up, unless he already had her before you broke up, lucky for you, you met someone and married them, well done...

yes i agree with that, i have gone back so many times and it got worse, now i am older and wiser i wouldn't do it again, i got dumped so why go back....i dump them so why take them back, there's no point really...

see this is what i am getting at, most of the answers here apply to a matter of trust, i too would't go back to a person if they left me for someone else, infact they dump me, they dump me for good, no going back.

yeah i have done it in the past, but only coz i was young and stupid, i have wised up just like you have and i would never go back to someone who dumped me, same here i am staying single for a long time, i am not even thinking about men right now, they just do my head in.....too distracting....

that's true they don't care, i think they only want to get back with us because they have nothing better to do and cannot be without a partner, good for you, i agree with you, they just don't care, if they did, they wouldn't dump us in the first place

yes it does depend on how you feel about someone, but if this person kept dumping you would you get tired of it and just call it a day....this is what i did....

kept on dumping me.. hmm, then it's a whole different story. A second chance would be enough. If it didn't worked out, then most probably it never will.
