Christmas is about Jesus not for SANTA |
|
Well if people just see how the world change since we celebrate Christmas, Commercial tend to change the views of children about Christmas. They get excited about Christmas because they would receive gifts. But The best Spirit of Christmas is to Honor Jesus and Serve him by his commands to make disciples of Christ...
"Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ." - Matthew 28:19

But you need to understand that not everyone has the same religious background as you, it is not that either of you wrong. BUT I think that you should respect and be happy that people of all views, religion, background, and whatnot some have fun and happiness during the holiday season.

3. surfette (444) | 2 months ago | When Jesus was born, the three wise men brought him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. This was a celebration, His Birthday!
Even though Santa is not exactly the three wise men, he symbolizes the joy of giving gifts to the people we hold dear. This is a very good and precious tradition.
The people of the world are all different in their beliefs and customs. I celebrate the way you feel and believe just as you should celebrate mine.
If people make Christmas about the love and not the money, then the symbol of Santa is a very good thing and can be celebrated right along side going to the church of your choice.

skalofong (1028) | 2 months ago | Its all about JESUS! our savior our king our healer our everything...
Its just about 1 year since i give my self To Jesus, as I grow with Him things Change and I see how the world turns to the roots of Christmas.
I think The best thing people should do in Christmas is to Share to all people Good news About Christ because as Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"
"Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ."

surfette (444) | 2 months ago | I am truly glad for you that you have found Christ and are walking in His path. I notice that you are only 21 years old and have many years of life ahead of you. I don't know if you have any children or grandchildren, but I do. I am almost 60 years old and have tried to live a pretty good life without hurting others along the way. I was and am a dedicated wife, mom and grandma.
My husband and I have had some very terrible economic times over the last eight years and he did not have much construction work to do for most of it. We do not spoil our kids and act like money is no object or use Christmas as a pagan holiday. I am making small gifts for everyone in the family with my own hands, filled with love that they will realize when they open their presents. It's all about the love for me and my family. I do agree that some people have taken commercialism to a new level and for them, that is their choice.
But, if you do not really know someone, then you have to understand their heart and intentions before you chastise them. After all, you are commanded to LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. That is the second greatest commandment after I AM THE LORD THY GOD, THOU SHALT HAVE NO FALSE GODS BEFORE ME. Words without action are empty. If we remember these words at all times, there would be no hate, no war and only PEACE ON EARTH. Bless you and walk in Christ. Amen

5. EARLZHAN (416) | 2 months ago | Well I agree with you.. Christmas is for our Dearest Lord God Jesus. It's the time to give a very especial thanks to him. Many kids thinks that when Christmas come santa is coming but the real essence of Christmas is for thanks giving. Parents should teach their children that the real essence of Christmas is to give thanks to GOd and give love. LOve one another even if it's not Christmas..

| carline76 (49) | 2 months ago | I agree with Earlzhan. Sometimes people forget what Christmas is really all about. If adults would give children a wrong impression or idea of Christmas because of some customs and practices, well I'm afraid that they would grow up to be materialistic persons.
Let's not forget to inculcate to the younger generations the real meaning, spirit and essence of Christmas.

6. jules67 (1935) | 2 months ago | I agree with you. We should go back to the belief the Christmas is the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ and not just to solely rely on giving gifts. The most important thing is that we focus on giving love to everybody.

7. Theresaaiza (1601) | 2 months ago | You are very right. Christmas has lost its deeper meaning. Sometimes Santa steals the limelight (not that he deliberately did it himself). I even heard that a country who are composed of a majority of non-Christians have started celebrating Christmas just because of Santa and other materialistic themes that have come along with it. More like "commercialized Christmas" to me, dont u think?
Although I think that to add magic to the occasion especially to kids, let Santa stay. BUT we must always teach them what Christmas is and what Christmas is for.

9. bing28 (1911) | 2 months ago | It's up for us the parents and adults on how we would educate or guide the children on how would they understand the true meaning of christmas. We could best explain that Jesus is the one we greatly honor on christmas, and giving is one of the virtues christmas brings and that Santa is just an additional inspiration for the kids to do good.

10. luvmysons (328) | 2 months ago | Yes you are right Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, However my 4 year old son understands that Jesus was born on Christmas day but he is excited more so for Santa Claus.. and of course getting presents.. Isnt that what makes xmas so exciting for the young ones.. I would never want to take his joy away and tell him its not about santa.. As long as he knows about the meaning of christmas thats good enough for me..
