Besides love, what is the most important thing in a relationship?

Communication is one of the vital ingredients in a relationship you have to establish an open communication where you can talk anything under the sun with fun and resolution if there are some disagreements.

Intimacy--sustain the fire of passion that will make you feel the love of each other not only physically but even reaching each others core-- the soul!

In any kind of relationship whether it be in business or personal relationship with a special person, one of the most important things to make a relationship last is honesty. Honesty is the only policy. It only takes one lie, one lie and trust will be gone. Once you trust someone, naturally, you will be honest and if you continue to be honest, then whatever the circumstances, your relationship will grow deeper, deeper than the ocean, wider than the universe, and higher than the sky above. That is what I consider important included in your list of important things in a relationship that will last.

I guess trust is very important too. I think without trust a relation cannot stand the test of time.

Hi friend. For me, trust is the most important factor. It is the foundation of our love for each other. We are in this long distance love affair thing and TRUST is the only thing we hold on to. I trust him, he trusts me and that's what matters to us. We become more faithful and loyal to each other because we do not want to lose each other's trust. Once this is broken, I think we can no longer bring back what was lost. We truly love each other and in time, we know that all our sacrifices will bear much fruits.
