FOX'S NEWS :At Least 7 Dead, 12 Wounded in Shooting at Ft. Hood,UNDER LOCK DOWN  

The latest I just heard is that there are apparently THREE shooters, the third one just opened fire on the SWAT team moments ago. I was just considering starting a discussion about this myself but wasn't sure what interest to put it in.

Thanks for posting it first, Rose! I'd only like to add that I hope none of our myLot friends are anywhere near this horrible situation and that anyone who may be in the area are safe and unharmed. PLEASE, if anyone is reading this from or near Fort Hood, Texas, please let us know what you know and that you're OK!

They're now saying this may be similar to what they believed had been planned for Fort Dix, NJ.

I haven't heard about this news, there are some crazy people, out in this world they will do anything, to hurt some one when did all of this happen?I will pull it up on the internet, and see if I can find the article, this is just so sad.

I'm hearing coverage of it now and a rep says one shooter can be a berserker, two shooters can be two crazies but three shooters-which there evidently is-is a planned attack and they are suspicious.

Keep a close eye on this for us. If any the shooters are not Americans we will probably get one little blurb that will quickly disappear forever.

God help those soldiers. There is still gunfire as of right now. I'm praying for them.

I just got the info on my phone, we live about 3 hours away, I just heard it may be terrorist related. There's no more updates besides the headlines. I live between two military bases, I'll have to check with my neighbors to find out what they know if anything.

ABC news is reporting this was a Major, Mjr. Malik Nadal Hasan. Not confirmed however. This suspect was shot and killed by local police.
other two shooters, also members of the amry, still no names. No one is really clear on the extent of their involvement.

Since I live in Waco, not far from Ft. Hood, it's all over all the radio stations. They've confirmed that 12 are dead, 31 are injured, and that the confirmed shooter (Malik Hassan, I think it was), was shot and killed. They've apprehended 2 or 3 additional suspects. At 5:30 there's going to be a conference. So far they're saying it might be all clear.

My best friend is a medic in the army, and he was actually on base when it all happened. He got out okay just before the lock down, though. I'm waiting on someone to tell us 'why' this happened.

I question his motives because if he is a convert to Islam then he obviously does not believe in fighting other Muslims. I also find it interesting that he was first registered to vote in 2001. He is now 39 years old why did he wait until he was 31 years old to vote. Perhaps he is not an American born convert but a Naturalized citizen?

A law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the dead gunman as Nidal Malik Hasan. Hasan, a doctor in the Medical Corps, was promoted to major last year, according to the Congressional Record.

Hasan "was scheduled to be deployed and was upset about that," Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Tex.) said on CNN after receiving a briefing from Army officials.
Army officials refused Thursday to identify anyone involved in the shootings.

According to records, Hasan is a U.S. citizen and was registered to vote in 2001 and 2004 in Virginia, with an address in Vinton, Va. He had also lived in Maryland. He was assigned to Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood at the time of the attack. CNN reported that Hasan was a mental health specialist and had previously practiced at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Hasan, 39, graduated from Virginia Tech and earned his medical degree at Bethesda's Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, records show. Hasan was a convert to Islam, Fox News reported.

Yap, three shooters, it is alleged - though the papers here only shows the Arab-looking shooter! I think that we are witnessing the effects of the daily shots of adrenaline our service people enjoy and/or are subjected to.

Sounds like more home grown terrorist possibly. To me they are the worst kind - traitors to their country. I hope the powers that be will investigate friends and family to be sure there aren't more lurking in the wings. I'm not saying that their friends and family have to be terrorist to - but it should be at least looked into and ruled out.

I hope that people take note of this mans name and what religion he is. It's happening all over and here in the UK all they get is a slap on the wrist. Heard he was shot too - well I hope the next shooting he is in is when they execute him and I am a person that does not like the death penalty but that is what he deserves. Thats the end of my rant for the day.
