remember remember the 5th of november | | WELL it's that time of year again, bonfires, fireworks, sparklers, people outside baking potatoes in the fire, cooking sausages, drinking hot beef drinks to stay warm, this year we all decided not to have a bonfire in the garden but it seems the landlord decided to burn some old furniture instead so we have a huge great black hole on our lovely green grass, also it's too close to the cherry tree so the tree is getting damaged from the heat...not good.... anyways i have got my cats locked indoors, too much activity going on out there, i just hope people have kept their pets in for safety reasons, there are alot of rotten people out there harming animals on bonfire night, i am not sure all countries celebrate guy fawlkes night on 5th november, but i do know that UK do this every year, so who is celebrating it tonight? what are your plans? please be safe out there and please keep your pets in till it's over...

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | well it seems to be quietening down now, but there re still alot of firework noises going on, i have shut my cats in the bedroom because they do not like the noise, it didnt used to bother max but today there's been so much noise going on out there he is in my room where it's safe, dusty is with him, so they are fine, i just hope other people have kept their pets indoors safe from the people who like to hurt animals on this occasion, there are some evil people out there who get kicks out of seeting fire to dogs and cats, but it seems to be going ok, i have not heard any fire engines as yet, so it looks like people are taking precuations this year, let's hope here's no casualties at the ER this time round.

| | 3. cynthiann (3100) | 1 month ago | I think that it is only celebrated in eh U.K. I am sorry that it has got so violent as I loved Guy Fawkes night as a child and teenager Also my mother's birthday, she would have been 99 today and she lived until she was nearly 95. Take care of the pets.

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | it has got too violent, i have heard so many horror stories with kids getting hurt and animals being used as plaything for the kids, some of them are very cruel so i hope all animals are kept indoors tonight and not being hurt by thugs.

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | it is fun when all the families get out and have that time where they can watch the fireworks but it's not so nice when the pets have to suffer the noise, so i just hope that everyone keeps their pets indoors so they are safe.

| | 5. drannhh (7493) | 1 month ago | Ah yes, until 1859 it was mandatory that you celebrate Guy Fawkes Night, if you wanted to be politically correct. But who doesn't love a bonfire, especially on an early night in November. When I was a child my neighborhood kept many of the old traditions alive, and the bonfire was no exception. That in the fall, and May Day in the spring. One Guy Fawkes Night when I was still a toddler and was locked in for my own protection I sat on the floor for what seemed like hours with my nose against the screen door watching the big kids and grownups getting the fire ready and cooking, but later on somebody came and took me out for a hot dog and some toasted marshmallows. That is one of my earliest memories.

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | oh that sounds like a lovely childhood memory, i used to love going out with my nanna and my aunts and uncles to see the fireworks, but like you, i wasn't allowed out when i was small because of stray fireworks, but once it had all died down, i used to go out and have baked potatoes and hot ddrinks to warm us up, this time i have decided to stay home with my furbabies and keep them safe till it's all finished, but i can see alot of lights in the sky from the street opposite and in next doors yard, it's so pretty but my cats are not going outside till it's finished, i have let them out of the bedroom now and they are trying to get out the cat door but it's not going to happen till the fireworks have stopped, it won't be long, people must be getting cold now so they will all go home soon....

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | yes it's sad to see the tree get burned like that, when we had the tree guys in this year i asked them about the tree and they said it was diseased and would prolly come down in the next year or so, it's just a matter of time, but we still get a crop of cherries from it, i feel sad that the landlord put the fire too close though, he should have put it at the back of the garden, oh happy birthday to your sis too....

| | 10. gabs8513 (19617) | 1 month ago | All my previous Pets Cats and Dogs used to be so scared of Fireworks but not Gissi lol, he barks at them I remember 2 Years ago my Son let of some Fireworks at New Year, there was Gissi and Cookie we left them both indoors, but Gissi was going mad he wanted to come out and stand with Mum, so I picked him and held him in my Arms thinking as soon as the first Firework would go of he would want to go in, oh no not him he watched it go up in the Sky barking at it , he still barks at them now when he hears them, he also barks at Thunder while I am hiding under the Covers lol I to hope that everyone has kept their Pets in doors as most of them are scared and as you say there are so many cruel People about I remember when my Son was 15, he is not a violent Person and hates fights, but him and his Friends caught a Boy tie a Firework to a Dogs Tail, well my Son is like me with animals he ran to the Dog and managed to get the Firework of the Tail before it went of, his Friends, also Animal Lovers, held onto the Lad who had done it, who was also laughing, My Son went up to him to tell him what he thought of him and that he would report him, the Lad went for my Son, so my Son defended himself told his Mates to stay out of it, the Lad came of worse, the trouble is People always thought my Boy was to soft, but People who knew him, knew that yes he is easy going, lets a lot go over his Head but do not push him to far, the Dog was fine, Mike and his Friends took the Dog Home, he had managed to escape

puddytatt (841) | 1 month ago | i get so angered when i hear of people using animals as their entertainment on binfire night, i saw a terrible case where some thug set fire to a cat, the cat survived but the lad took a beating by the cats owner and was hospitalised, it's horrible that these cowaeds can even think about doing such a horrid thing, they are just brainless morons, and their parents should be slapped for that...
on a brighter note, gissi seems like he lieks the noise and the bright lights, he is funny gabs, i love reading his stories
good for your son who defended that poor dog, some people seem to think that the quiet ones are the ones who won't do anything, but what they don't realise is, the quiet ones can be the worst sometimes, so they best watch out...
