what is your favorite old time weapon and why?

so im really smart because i just realized that i forgot to mention my inspiration for this discussion was deadliest warrior which is why i started it in tv and not like q&a which now that i look back makes more sense. but i'm REEEALLY glad you answered i thought my curiosity was doomed:) and yes i agree bows and arrows are cool but i have one in my basement that i use so i really don't think of them as old i guess though they really are. and as far as the samurai they use many weapons just the katana was the most famous of them partially due to the amazing skill with which they were crafted and used. did you know that they are ranked by how many body's they can cut through with one stroke? i find that so fascinating.

yes a sling shot is quite dangerous but very fun and useful as it takes very little space. and they are also light weight for easy carrying tho their accuracy is entirely based on the user as is any other weapon.
