Have you ever wasted food?

Yes it's quite bad. I grew up where I do not get scolded for not finishing all the rice in my dinner plate. Then one day I went on an outing with a friend and her parents and they finished off every scrap in their plates out of habit. It made me feel so awkward (though it wasn't intentional) that from that time onwards I always made sure I clean off my plate.

Hello Earth. Waste not want not is what I have been taught all of my life. My mother would make you eat what was on your plate. We all fixed our own plates and if we put too much of something on our plate she would tell us we should be more careful and not put more then we think we can eat. I can't blame you for doing that with the left over food. We do the same thing if we have something left over at a restaurant we always get a doggy bag too. Our baby dog loves anything we bring him. I also hate wasting food and when I go out for dinner I always ask for doggybags. I never have dinner out with my own means (I can´t afford it) so I´m invited. At first, some friends were mildly shocked when I asked the waiter to wrap EVERY leftover. I explained and now they understand. I don´t mind if it´s at the best restaurant in the city: food is food, not waste.
I think we must try to eat our share and not more, if we can help it. To throw away food is throwing part of what we should eat. Then we will eat someone else´s food when we get hungry.

I just similar scenes with the way you describe it as even though almost half ofthe world population is on the brink of poverty and hunger. Their are lots of insensitive people who waste food in every restaurant, food, in simple eatery or even at your own homes. Thus, it is my practice to eat all the food i order and if i could not finish them all. I bring the leftover food and ask the waiter to put them in pack so I could bring it. I also value every cents of my money and rarely waste food.

Not wasting food is a really good habit. I congratulate you on this. I used to waste food all the time in my younger days. I always over ordered. I guess I felt there was never going to be enough food. I did take the food home, however, and if I didn't eat it later, then I would give it to my pets. As I've gotten older I have grown out of this over ordering habit. Now, when I place my order I make sure I can finish it.

Yeah, I hate it when that happens. My parents are always telling me that people have worked hard to get this food to us, and that we shouldn't waste any to respect their hard work. My dad is from the countryside, so he knows how hard farmers work. Whenever we eat, we always have to eat everything on our plate, so nothing goes to waste. Maybe that's why our trash is so clean=)

I don't like to see food wasted. I guess I was brought up that you just did not waste food. There are just to many people who don't have food to eat.

When I was a kid I used to waste food all the time, I hated eating meat and every time I ate dinner I always had a napkin on my lap to slip the meat whenever my parents weren't looking, then curl the napkin and threw it in the garbage with the meat. Nowadays my tastes in food are almost endless and I'll try anything. I guess you become more different when you are an adult in terms of what kinds of food you like. Now I don't waste any food at all, I usually finish what I have on my plate, however I did eat with a bunch of friends once and this one girl had a plate full of food and probably ate only 1/4 of eat and left it there, which I got a little angry; so it doesn't matter if you are an adult or a kid, some people just have a tendency to waste more than others.

of course,i think many people have that exerpince, when i was a child,i would eat none of the ood i dislike when my parents give them to me i just throw them into rubbish box.but ow i will not do that again,as i just buy what i want .ha
