One of his many reasons for success was that despite being a wonderful musician, he recorded his albums in two ways. The first way was that he spoke patois for the Jamaican people but he would also record and sing his songs in standard English for the world market. He was one smart man.
The Rastafarian religion existed long before Bob and the true Rastafarian is a very peace loving person. Bob was not a racist in any way and loved mankind. May he rest in peace.
