I think the movie paranormal activity was SO NOT SCARY

In all honesty? I think it's boring, predictable and not scary.

The first part of the documentary bored me. I almost fell asleep and from the get go I sort of thought, okay, so they're in a haunted house. They might get something on video and start screaming their head off and blah blah and I was right.

I've seen scarier stuff on Discovery Channels "A haunting".

I actually just watched it about a hour ago. I was very unimpressed and it didn't make me jump. I watched it in the dark and with the volume up and it did nothing for me. He was a loser to his girlfriend and was so uncaring. Now I see why they commercials showed the AUDIENCE reaction and not the film. I have to look up that film you mentioned. I enjoyed "Tale of Two Sisters" so I have a fondness for Korean cinema.

I completely agree with you that the movie was anything but scary for me.Honestly speaking I found the movie very boring and predictable and there was never a moment when I felt like being scared or afraid.I downloaded the movie after reading some rave reviews about the movie but was hugely disappointed after watching it.The movie has raked in lots of money as per the trade reports but I don't understand what the critics and the people loved in the movie,there is not a single moment in the movie that's even worth talking about.I loved the ending though where the lover gets stabbed,I feel he deserved that since he was such a bloody loser who didn't care for and protect his girlfriend.Overall not a good movie,I would not recommend it.

The whole first half totally sucked and was so slow. Everbody kept saying how good of a movie it really was, and that it was one of the scariest movies they had ever seen, but when I went and saw it, I was very disappointed. Not only was it slow, but it sucked because there wasn't any point to it. The whole thing was a mess. I wouldn't recommend watching this movie to anybody, so if you were wondering if you should go see it, find something better to do.

Well, I haven't seen the movie yet, but from what all of my friends have said, I think it should be pretty good. Everyone says it's really scary, but maybe that's them. I've seen a great deal of scary movies in the past, and I've heard scarier. And I've watched every one of them in bed at midnight on my laptop with all the lights turned off. It's pretty epic. Anyway, I'm planning to see it soon, to see if it really is good or bad.

I feel like they could have done something to grab at our interest a little more. I know they were suppose to be "not" acting like actors, but as if it wasn't a movie at all. But in all honesty i felt like it was bad acting and non- acting. If the director of the movie would have done any research on real "Paranormal Activity" he would have known that a lot of the things they tried to convince the audience of just wasn't possible. I wasn't expecting the movie to be what it was. I guess sometimes having such high expectations can lead to disappointment.

Sole-

My husband and I so don't want to see that movie lol. We may see it if comes on Comcast On-Demand, but the previews alone look horribly contrived. I think the hype is getting people into see it, and that is the only reason it is making any money.

I've definitely heard of Paranormal activity and I really want to watch it but that's not gonna happen cause I live in Australia, and that movie is not coming out here.:( I absolutely love scary movies, so maybe I could end up downloading it online when it comes into DVD?

I'm a bit dissapointed now because I was excited to watch it, and you'se don't think it's a good movie. I mean, in the trailer they showed people watching the movie and everyone jumped like every 20 seconds and they were so freaked out that some people had to leave the cinema. Now I'm wondering if that is real or if they just got a bunch of people together and paid them to act it out. I would hope not.

I am going to still watch it though, and for me I hope it ends up being scary. I hope the effects aren't that bad as you mentioned..

korean 6 now i will have to watch that movie... oh yeah paranormal activity was too good to be true, it couldn't be like that... i mean it looked so unreal, the guy was acting like he isn't afraid at all, but in real life one could never say .. nothing like that can ever happen, even if it's just a mockumentary they have shown too much, i am talking about the part where that women was simply dragged away, now that was too silly!... if it is has to be serious they should have put some things that one could actually think could happen like small things moving, the very first night video was the most convincing where the door creaked slowly, now that is something close to what people can actually want to believe in and the foot steps and the shadows are were so not convincing, oh it was such a low budget movie but they have already earned so much, have a look in the internet movie database... they have hit the jackpot but honestly the movie wasn't that good, too much things happening, too much to for anyone to doubt whether something like that could happen in the haunted houses, eh i don't believe in ghosts

As per to what the responses here about paranormal activity, I guess it's not really scary. I remember also when I watched the movie Cloverfield, where I was disappointed with the film as it made me dizzy watching it since it has a lot of camera movement (well I know that the setup of the movie or the movie was being taken by one of the cast). Well I didn't finished the movie as I find it boring.

But for curiosity sake, I'll try to watch paranormal activity as well.
