 yep, that's what happened today, we have had ALOT of rain these past few days, there's been quite alot and the roads are just filled with huge puddles everywhere, so there i was walking down the road on my way to the village when a car passed and literally soaked me from head to toe, i tried to stop most of it with my umbrella but it was too late, the water went all over my back, down my legs and yep, all over my butt, i was half way to the village and didn't want to go back because i didn't have much time, so i carried on walking, again SPLASH! yep, another soaking, lol, i laugh now because it could only happen to me twice, so by the time i got to the village i was drenched through and feeling pretty cold, so i rushed around the village, got what i needed then got a taxi home, don't you just hate it when someone asks if you've been splashed? i did see the funny side of it though and got home and took all my wet clothes off and got into my comfy pj's LOL.... has this ever happened to you, been splashed from head to toe by a car, what did you do?

| 2. BulletTooth (216) | 4 weeks ago |  I've been splashed a few times. It usually happens when I'm going out for the night or if I'm on my way to work, never when I'm just popping to the shop. I've seen cars actually sweve in to a puddle to deliberately splash me. I know exactly where puddles are so I usually wait for cars to go past or rush past them to avoid being splashed. I have to aadmit it's funny when I see it happening to someone else but I usually hate it when it happens to me. After a while I see the funny side and laugh about it.

| 3. kezabelle (2669) | 4 weeks ago |  No it hasnt, but i know here in the UK it is actually illegal for someone to purpoesfully splash you in their car however proving it was done on purpose and not by accident is rather difficult!
I think people should be more careful when driving in the rain and also if im with my girls i walk them away from the road much safer and they are also less likely to get splashed!

I was just remembering while reading your discussion about the time I got splashed like that, and then on top of that we had a sudden cloudburst and I was out in it with no umbrella. the rain was not the usual Ca warm rain either.I was literally dripping,as Ihad already been splashed then the cloud burst dumped on me again, so I staggered into this little donut shop.I asked for a large coffee and I think she felt extra sorry for me, so she gave me a super large one for the price of a large one and a handful of paper towels. I mopped myself off as best I could and sat and waited for the rain to stop. I was so cold. the coffee really helped so much.then the sun came out, and no more rain.I dont think we have had any rain since then either. That day after the sun came out I bought myself a new umbrella,have not needed it since. wow.

| puddytatt (838) | 4 weeks ago | Hatley, you are more than welcome to this rain, there's alot of it, it keeps coming and coming, infact it's so cold that when it hits you, it stings the skin, the winter is really kicking in here, it was nice of the lady in the coffee shop to help you out, at least the sun came out afterwards, i do remember one time i was going for an important interview, i had my trouser suit on, my hair done all nice, make-up on, i really made the effort, next minute WHOOSH!!! the heavens opened, i was soaked through, all the curls in my hair fell out, i looked like sissy spacek in Carrie, lol, i had mascara running down my cheeks, i looked like a drowned rat, but i still went for the interview not knowing that the mascara was all down my face...LOL, so i now know why everyone was staring at me when i went into the office, but putting that aside, i did get the job....  | |

Same thing as when I nearly hit a motorcycle--since then, about 35 years ago, I make a special effort to watch for them.

Oh my goodness. You poor thing get soaked like that. I got splashed going for my walk here at work but just got my pants legs luckly. Can you imagine if I went back to work totally soaked.. Can you see them laughing now?
Is there way to get dry by a heater. I went back to my office and tried to not walk till I was dry. I did go the ladies room to try use the heater that dry hands to dry my pants.
This is good questions I am curious on what type of tips will be generated under this discussion.

Yes, that has happened to me before on my way back from work, its a good thing it wasent on my way then, I got off the bus and just about to cross the road when this car just pass and I was splash head to toe, so right I decided jump in the muddle like a child, but had a great time,lol.
