When Do You Put Up Your Christmas Tree?

With us it will depend on whether we go get a live tree or do artificial ones instead. We wait a little later with the live ones, as they are not fresh as long and if we have to travel we do not want them to be a fire hazard. We may put up decorations when we get back from our Thanksgiving travels.

I used to put mine up at the end of November,as the children would keep on and on and on until i did.Now i tend to put it up about the second week in December.No matter when we put it up we always tend to take it down on Boxing day as by then i think Christmas is over as the children have had all their presents.Plus it makes alot more room as well.

In my place, I don't need to put up a christmas tree because we have natural trees grown up already. If we want to, we can just put some christmas light around it and it's good for the season already. I don't like those plastic christmas tree because they are not real, but I understand many who put up their own hand-made or bought christmas trees.

My husband and I always decorate the day after Thanksgiving. The tree goes up that day as well. We have an artifical tree. I love Christmas because this is the time of the year when my creative ability comes shining through. I paint ceramic ornaments and make gift baskets. I am hoping by next year I will be able to set up a web site where I can sell my stuff online. I need to save some money before I can do this.

hi there, you may think it's weird but I put up my Christmas tree very early. By the month of September i started putting up my Christmas Decorations. I just love Christmas so much that i want to enjoy the essence of the season for a long while. I even sometimes wish that everyday is Christmas.

I never took it down. Once when we lived in the MidWest and we had gone to cut a big live tree, it smelled so nice and looked so pretty we left it up until March. But we kept it in water and sprayed the needles with water to keep it from drying out. Actually one must be careful and dispose of live trees before they become a hazard. But in recent years we have foregone the pine trees and put a string of lights and ornaments on a fake ficus tree in the living room at our winter place. Because we live elsewhere most of the year it can just stay up. It does have to be dusted once in a while, though

normally we do ours mid december,i love putting the tree up but i don't like having it up for long,so it normally comes down bout 4 days after christmas

Same here, weekend after Thanksgiving. I am aching to the entire month of November, though... I just figure it's too soon if I do it before Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving night, or morning. This year I am not sure, because we are having extra guests, and I am not sure when I will squeeze it in. I may have to put it up, and the lights on it the night before, then decorate it after they go home. I don't want to break my tradition of putting it up on Thanksgiving.

We are just like you rosepedal we like putting our tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving and then we will normally leave it up until the weekend after New Years. We keep our tree in a huge bin and then we have about 6 boxes full of all the lights and decorations. We put up white dangle lights on the porch, light up snowmen and Santa in the window along with the kids' decorations. I will hang the stockings on the mantle, lights over 3 of the doorways and television stand. Then I have a Christmas runner for my coffee table and place mats for the kitchen table. I put out a huge Christmas bowl with fruit and nuts and then two separate candy dishes with hard tact candy in them. Then of course there is always the tree, it sits on the corner opposite the couch that way it can be seen from any angle in the house.
My husband and I love Christmas because of the lights and always say to each other that if people didn't think that we were weirdos that we would leave the lights u all year round. The old house that we lived in had a stairwell in the living room so we bought a set of rope light and wrapped it in between the banisters and left them all year and would light them at night but that was the furthest we got to keeping our Christmas lights up all year round.
