In my country Philippines, one hero I truly admired most was Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr, the late Senator who was assassinated in August 1983 while returning from exile in the United States. He was a gallant statesman who did everything he could to restore democracy in our land but was unsuccessful due to the iron hand of the dictator Marcos. Philippines is ruled for 20 years by Ferdinand Marcos and always challenged by the late Senator Aquino for an immediate reform in the government. Senator Aquino was one of the great political figures in our country and could have been an effective president had Marcos did not declare Martial Law. Senator Aquino longed to restore peace and democracy in our land but was shot upon his return. Senator Aquino came from an illustrious Aquino family in the Philippines, he married Corazon Cojuanco, which came from another prominent and rich family in our country. Eventually, Corazon "Cory" Cojuanco Aquino lead a peaceful and bloodless protest, known as People Power Revolution, for a massive election fraud which cheated her in the November 1985 national election against Marcos, it eventually ousted Marcos. Aquino's widow Cory became the first woman President in our country. Today, Cory and Ninoy's only son Senator Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III is running for President in 2010.

I got two (2) he-rows to add-my-year; the first US president of USA Mr John Hanson and the sixteenth Mr Abraham Lincoln. Why I add-my-year them both, respectively?; After I've read their history of ruling the government, firstly, during Mr John Hanson's time as the first president he quite lot shoes to fill. I can imagine, with no role model and all things started from the beginning. No fund to meets the salaries claimed by the troops/soldiers (after the Revolutionary War ended). Troops made great protest to putsch him from his presidency. This the part I felt something very intriguing for my learning. The amazing part was how can he calmed down the troops, if not, what a real smoke over troubled water because the troops threatened to bow and forward the issue to King Washington. About Mr Abraham Lincoln as the sixteenth (16th.) US President, learning from his life history is about how he handle, manage, and taking control the slavery issues. Not an easy way out from it as he had to pull all leaders in Republican Party which were in faction and friction and finally he was successfully ask them to cooperate in the slavery issues. I can imagine, how hard time for him as there are serial civil wars to settle down. If not strong and smart, the whole set of his ruling power will be damaged and useless.

My hero is not a he, but a she. She was Mrs.Indra Gandhi, the former prime minister of India, who was assasinated by her own sikh body guards. Mrs.Gandhi always worked for the poor of the country, and she was the Iron woman. When Pakistan killed thousands of innocent bengalis, she bravely fought with them and created a new nation 'Bangla Desh'.She made India more strong, and she was not afraid of any super powers. She was a wonder woman.

The hero I personally admire the most, is very little known 'Audie Murphy'! He was the most decorated war hero of WWII! He single-handedly fought off the enemy and saved his fellow soldiers, when he and his combat unit were surrounded! They later made a movie of his life, and war experience, and he starred as himself in it! Later he became an actor and made several other movies! His family was poor, their father deserted them when he was young and he dropped out of the eighth grade to support his mother and the 11 brothers and sisters at home! Look up his biography on Wikipedia, it is very interesting!

I will and always will respect my King, Ratchagarn 9. I think he is the best role model in all of Thai's history, he will sacrifice everything if it means to benefit the whole country. He also is very smart and is just practically the perfect person.
