Do you leave your pimples alone or do you try and squeeze them?

I know I can risk permanent scarring.I'm sure I have a ton of scarrs from over the years.

Bluepacket - I was reading up about home remedies for things like this and amazingly it says that putting slice tomatoes on them makes the scars heal faster, something to do with the astringency in them. Also toothpaste on a pimple before sleeping will dry it out. Change your pillow regualary too, and don't touch them.

My all time favourite actor, the wonderful James Woods, has a bit of scarring like that. I'm sure they tone it down a bit for the cameras with make up, he's still georgous anyway but I think it probably dates back to his teens.

yes,it doesn't ruin their looks but it can be very obvious.

I'm 47 and I still get pimlples but not alot! Just enough tp make me realize I wish I wouldn't get them anymore!

i think you are correct - after your teens it is usually diet or illness that causes spots, or pimples. lots of fruit and veg will help.

Diet is not the problem! Doctor's have studied pimples and they know food has nothing to do with getting pimples! I also don't use make-up.

I wonder then if this is another of those English/American word differences then, in British English a pimple is a spot yet I notice you added this in the acne interest, so maybe in American English a pimple refers to acne, which if it does I don't know anything about, but an English pimple/spot, is definitely caused by bad diet.
We've been having these differences all week with hood/ladder/trunk etc.

pimples are big spots. if you have acne then you have lots of spots/pimples so i guess this discussion might as well go in here.

and bluepacker - i think adult spots are related to health (which includes diet, if you have a poor diet then you are unlikely to be very healthy). i know when i am ill i get the odd spot.

WEll if acne is just lots of big spots then it is obviously bad diet and not enough water drunk. I'd be interested to see which set of Doctors disagree with that. Eat junk and it erupts on the face, so I've only myself to blame if I get a big spot on my chin tomorrow as I was indulging in giant chocolate round things last night covered with hundreds and thousands, I hadn't seen any for years. I did wash them down with a bottle of water though.

i'm due a few as well - guzzled down a huge amount of indian food last night (one of the few cuisines that actually provides proper vegetarian food) and definitely overdid the battered things.

Well thanks for that JB, I'd happily break out all over if I could get my hands on a decent bindi bhaji, see I like veggie ones too, some onion bhajis with those wonderful chutneys, and a prawn purri. Are prawns off limit to you or are you a fish eating veggie?

poor little fishes. no i don't eat fish. have i already told you that i do eat meat sometimes when i travel? it started in my first job working abroad in a meat eating country where people would invite you round and provide vast quanities of very nice food and you could hardly go - ok i am not eating that, that, that or THAT. i don't eat meat (or fish) in this country though and never bought and cooked it for myself when i was abroad.

I presume it was when you worked here in Greece that you had meat foisted on you then. They don't believe in vegetarianism. You can get away with it easier if you don't actually mention that you are one, as there are some really good veggie dishes, but if someone says they don't eat meat then they are looked at strangely and a slab of lamb arrives on their plate as they are explained to why that isn't really meat.

I think the idea of vegetarinism is anathemna to countries who were deprived of food in the war years, and didn't have a choice in doing without meat. To eat meat is a sign of wealth.

Maybe trying to take care of your face! then your wife wouldn't have the opportunity to pop you zits!

I do need to wash my face more,and I have not heard anything about toothpaste but I drink a lot of water,since I work a lot and when I am at work I am always sweating from pushing the carts,and I always wash my face whenever I take a shower.

Even when I wash my I still have acne just not as bad and as long as I have acne my wife will always want to pop my zits.
