For me it doesn't matter at all If I am not the first person that responds to a discussion. I actually don't even think of being the first to reply to a discussion. I mean first or last response, you in the end are still going to have a say and your response will be read.
However, if something that you enjoy doing is responding to discussions and being the first one to do so, that's fine. If you actually go to the no responses tab in mylot, you will be linked to heaps and heaps of pages of discussions that have not yet been replied to. So by replying to these discussions not only are you going to be the first one that replied to them, but you would make the owner of the discussion very happy because someone has finally responded to there discussion.
I wish you all the best.

Yes I know, so that's why we should all help out in the no responses tab. :)

Hello zhouxi. I think that it depends so far as I am concerned because it all depends on whether I can say something about the topic whether it is hot or not. I used to love to be the first responder, but not now, as can be seen from my previous sentence. Good day, zhouxi.

In this case I can't share good answer with your question asked because I am participating on here during my spare time. Seems free time is hard thing to allot, so I will respond to any myLot discussion through email notification from my friends, listed in my friend's list.
Whatever, a posted discussion which easy for me to look for a quality answer (I think) will be prioritized. About to be the first responder is an impossible thing for me to do it if I am referring to the discussion notification qued in my email inbox. Unless I go for new published discussions running down in the new discussions tray.

Usually, when I have found the discussion that I am interested in, there are often some responses before my response.
To be the first responder is an amazing thing and I guess most people here may have the same anwser when it comes to the position of responses. However, if I am not the first one, It is really dosen't matter to me because there are still many opportinities. Of course, to be the first responder is useful to help us make more friends and it is said that the first responder may get double earnings than others(I am not sure).
Happy myLotting!

[b]It's kind of fun to be the first in a discussion, but it's not that important to me. In fact, I sometimes see discussions that are a year old, or even older, & if the topic appeals to me, then I jump in!
What do you mean by "a hot follower?"

Honestly, it does not matter to me if I'm the first or just a follower. I usually respond to posts which I feel like responding to. Most of the time, topics about life and personal experiences catch my attention. However, I hate nonsense posts and I definitely do not respond to these.
