Wedding and Honeymoon? Which would You Rather Spend More On?

Honeymoon for me! I would like to spend more on a honeymoon/vacation than an actual wedding. Sure it's nice to think of a fairytale wedding but to be able to go somewhere with the love of your life and just enjoy each other would be awesome.

I would spend more on the honeymoon than the wedding. For my wedding, if I had one, I would like things to be reasonably priced. It would be quite an event with just family and close friends. I might choose a registry office wedding and an out of doors reception. Then I would fly off to an exciting honeymoon destination. I would go somewhere with my true love like Madagascar. I might even, if I did get married, do it overseas. Weddings in tropical destinations are popular. Like I could get married in Grenada and then honeymoon in Tobago.

You will be together forever after the honeymoon so, make the most of the honeymoon. It's once in you marriage life.

I think it is a waste of money for both of them. I would rather have a small wedding (no bridesmaids or best men) and then a small week end trip. I would rather use the extra money of furniture and down payment on a home.

i would love to spend more on the honeymoon cause it's something that the couple would remember for the rest of their lives, sharing a fantastic vacation with just the two of them. as for the wedding, in my religion, you dont have to spend much on he ceremony, you dont even have to pay the offciator of the wedding, all you gotta spend on is the food. but i guess, i would only invite the people i truly love.. that's bec, i want my wedding to be solemn and to be shared with people who know us most, right?

I'd focus on the honeymoon. A wedding is just a few hours but a honeymoon can last for days and it's the time couples spend together in the most beautiful place they can find.

Funny story -- I know a woman who got married to a man she was only half in love with just to honeymoon in Hong Kong! She was very young at the time and naive, thinking that her rather violent husband would stop beating her like he promised to.

At her modest wedding she settled for silver jewellery instead of gold so she could holiday in Hong Kong.

She had a ball in Hong Kong and became house model for Vidal Sassoon, one of the most famous hair stylists in the world. But 6 months later, she divorced her husband who did not change.

I think it will be wedding for me. you have to make that wedding plan smoothly implemented. It's your day and you have to make it the best of your life. A memorable one that will create an impact to your family, relatives, friends and all the witnesses in your wedding. Your wedding involves lots of people and details--- you have to be on top of it even if you have your wedding coordinator.

Honeymoon-- will it's just you and your spouse. You have all the time to spend over a week or month. But wedding-- it will only be an hour for the ceremony and another hour for the reception and that's it. So, short period of celebration but so full of memories to keep and be proud of after your event.

If I had a choice I would spend more on the honeymoon than the wedding. When I was married we called a clergyman and had a brief ceremony in the backyard with two couple who were his friends. A day later we had a party to celebrate. We had no money to honeymoon, never did go on a vacation by ourselves.

I think the honeymoon is important, more so than the wedding. It gives you time alone to bond together as a couple and that is so important! The wedding is merely a spectacle for your friends and relatives--I think weddings should be intimate and private, like your marriage. A reception or a potluck dinner where everyone brings a dish is a nice celebration for your friends and relatives but any real amount of money you spend should be on yourselves!

Me and my partner are getting married next April we wont be having a honeymoon but then we have two small children and no one to care for them if we went on honeymoon. To be honest though we are not spending a lot on the wedding either for us its not how we do it but simply we confirm our love to one another and properly become man and wife you do not need to spend a lot of money to do that although I understand for many a huge extravagent wedding is very important.
