 My sister has been sick of schizophrenia since 1992. It's very devastating to my family to see her waste her life. Her medications have been helping her get better but very unproductive. She has been taking 2 kinds of medicine, one is antipsychotic and the other anti parkinson, to counter the side effects of the antipsychotic medicine. I love my sister so much but every time her dellusions take place, I couldn't help but get frustrated. She thinks she is a saint and sometimes Mary, the mother of Jesus and she would name my eldest son as God the Father and my baby as Jesus. It is pathetic and very annoying. Her psychiatrist told us that she would be taking her medicines for life. Is there a cure for this illness? I need all the help I could get.

My family has been very understanding to her and tolerant. I am hoping that one day there would be a medical breakthough that treats patients with this illness completely. | |

She must be luck enough to have you as a sister for you did not give up on her even if you get frustrated. Science may say that there is no cure but miracles can happen. God has a reason for everything why He let it happen to your family for all of us has a problem that is within our capacity its only up to us how to deal with it. They are the so called spices of life. Just have faith & believe.
