That's what makes me sick about the Christian church: not that the morals they 'proclaim' are "wrong" by any means, but that they 'quack' their proclamation in their gatherings just before turning around, tightening their blindfolds and burrowing their bodies back into the world's filth!

This came to mind when I was invited to a Facebook-group (ChristiansLivingProof) just now, and--just as I expected--their comment-page was full of 'resounding gongs' (members mindlessly spouting-off 'correct quackings' (Scripture, thoughts they hear others spout-off elsewhere, etc.) without building upon any of the previous comments).

Why do people see the light and mindlessly repeat it rather than live it first and spout-off reports of their enlightened living?

I've always considered that they merely use the same language.. which yes, to me, is a little off putting.. I don't think it's so much that they don't all have independent thought (other groups speak alike too). I make it a point not to use pet phrases, and then fellow Christians sometimes think I don't quit have it (or get it). But I find the repeated phrases a bit irritating, and yes, I think they lose their listeners (except for other Christians!) I think it's because somehow we mixed "law with grace" and also I can't help thinking that like with any other group of humans, after 2000 years you're bound to pick up some baggage along the way, and also lose some of the original message, or "good news". I find with Christians as with most groups of people, they mean well and are sincere. I think the repeated phrases are due to trying to measure up (in each other's eys, which is of course a product of 'fear') which is from a sense of "the law" which is a 'trying to measure up' which they/we should know better as the new testament/testimony/covenant is all about how we cannot possibly measure up (to perfection, what with being imperfect) that's why the rescue frrom imperfection and its result of more imperfection and nonlife/death was built into everything from the beginning (or as the phrase goes "from the foundation of the world").

Yeah!

'Grace' is (I'm almost afraid to say) an 'excuse for breaking the law.' (That's not to say 'now we SHOULD break the law,' but more like 'we can only "accuse" people of "what they do," not "how they seem" or "what we conjecture them intending to do in the future.")

We are "saved from the law by grace." 'The law' is basically 'that everything dies' ... a law that (as far as I know) our bodies are subject-to. By grace, our minds go on-&-on---quickening (breathing life into) our bodies.

If it weren't for grace, I'd be 14 years dead---as I certainly didn't "deserve" to come back to life! Being alive now, you would think that I would have a huge fortune and writing this from my gigantic mansion in Nice, France.

But no, the people of this world (no matter what "church" they cleave to) are too hateful to understand the worth of imaginary things like life, love, truth etc. Thus they think of 'grace' as if it's some limited resource that they have to "bury in a safe in an empty field."

I don't understand why they can't open their eyes and see where the grace comes from so that they can pay it forward, teach its recipients to do the same, teach its recipients to teach further recipients to ... and so on.

But they can't pay the grace forward. If they could, they would see that I only seem wrong because 'it' (the situation, the world, their accusative perception of me) IS NOT RIGHT.

They see me as a perverted single guy; because that's what I was as a teenager, and they don't believe the situation can change.

Just claiming to be a Christian doesn't make them a Christian any more than standing in their garage makes them a car. Unfortunately, not every one has been enlightened yet....and are just at the beginning stages of their journey. I am sure most of us have been there at one time or another, spouting off scripture, and really not understanding what any particular scripture means. It's all a journey, and we become more knowledgeable the more we let God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit into our lives.

Be patient with them my friend!

Oh, I'm eternally patient; just tell my body to be so patient, and see what happens ...

If my body were as patient as I am, I would still be a 14-year-old 'waiting' for my huge settlement to be given.

But no, the kind of patience the Lord wants is not 'waiting for something to happen'; it's more like 'acting as if everything already has happened' or 'acting with the expectation that everything will happen when it happens.'

With your first sentence, I thought of Lord Jesus Christ saying, "And in those days, people will come to me saying, 'Lord! Lord! We healed in your Name and cast out demons in your Name and prophesied in your Name; won't you let us into your Kingdom?' And I will say, 'I don't know you; get out of here!'"
