How Important is It to Have the Support of Your love's Parents?

parents are your best buddies parents help always in your crunch time you should never lie to them in any situation but certain things are needed to kept away from them still dont do this as if you will ditch your parents it's like ditching god

Parents want what is best for their children but there comes a time when they have to support them in the decisions they make, including their choice of mates. She should tell her parents that and make it clear that she loves this man and they may as well support her in her decision. She has to stand up to her parents. Has your friend talked to the parents and asked why they don't think he is good enough? If not, he should.

It is a shame that your friends girlfriends parents do not approve of him, but you don't really explain why? They must have a reason, has he tried asking his girlfriend why?

Though if he really loves her and she really loves him, I think in time the parents will come around or at least accept the relationship. My Mum doesn't like my husband, but we have been together 8yrs and our relationship is solid. It hasn't affected our relationship in anyway that my Mum doesn't approve.

It is very important. It can and break your relationship. But if you are so inloved with each other that no matter what you will stick to each other, don't bother.

well, just be true to yourself and in relating with your future in laws. Try to establish a good rapport and communicate regularly to have the chance to know each other better and to appreciate each other. Don't expect them to love and accept that early-- try to love and accept them because without them there will be no love of your life. Be respectful.

If it does not work... go on with your life as long as you have each other to hold on to!

I can't imagine life without parents's support.Since the day of being born,mon and dad stay with me all the time and always the first help when i was in trouble.Tuition fee and the cost of living of my are all come from my parents.I love them,we both love each other.

Well, parents support do important... But, in this case if they really in love each others... I think they've got to prove it for more! The girls parents must have their own reasons to do so... i think they all should talk about it both sides for good! but remember, it(the decission) should back to the childrens... because they are the ones who will getting married, not their parents! It's more important in some cultures than in others. A couple needs to worry about their own feelings, in my eyes. Parents are rarely happy with their kids' choices until they get used to the idea that it's going to last. Then they usually come around.

I used to think it doesn't matter, but nowadays I think it quite important. We live very close to my in-laws and I know they took me on as a daughter. That's particular important to me as my parents live far away.

It would be nice to be accepted by the family of your significant other. Unfortunately, as you can see, it isn't always the case.

For me, it definitely would make things a lot easier but if they don't like me, then that's just too bad. It won't affect the relationship unless my partner starts to listen to his parents.

I don't think that anyone can do anything to "force" anyone else to like them. The only thing your friend can do is to be patient and just be himself.
