Yes, definitely we should learn to love ourselves first because if we don't nobody else will. I mean we cannot love others if we simply can't love our own selves. But not to the point that we don't care for others and we only love just ourselves. It's an obvious selfishness which will do no good to us in the long run.

yes i do, i love myself by taking care of my body, i never drink alcohol nor smoke cigarette to make me feel healthy and free from diseases, it's one way of loving one's self. when you love yourself, then it's easy for you to love other people too.

That makes me remember a time when I was at school. I was only 14 years old.
The teacher asked if there was anyone in the classroom who did not love themselves.
I used to believe it was selfish to love yourself, you must think of others before yourself.
Me and another girl raised our hands proudly. (Cause I believed it was the right answer,hahaha!)
The teacher than said what you said: If you don't love yourself you cannot possibly love anyone else.

It took me some years to realize what she meant.
I was a church goer for many years, and I was taught that thinking of yourself first is selfish. This is the way I used to live. I was nothing, the others were important, not me.
Then when I needed help, where did all the people go that I had helped in the past???

Here is where I started to wake up. If you don't look after yourself first, you cannot look after anyone else. If you don't love yourself, why do you expect someone else to love you?

I learned the hard way, better late than never.

loving ourselves is not a bad thing, as long as it doesn't hurt others. in this life, asking the question, "what about me?" matters a lot. Just make sure you're still on the right path because once you lose the real you, it takes a great deal of struggle to get your life back.

Loving yourself truly means loving your soul. It's less important to take care of your body if you don't care about your soul. Ask yourself are you helpful? trustworthy? honest and loyal? are you doing all your duties properly? Are you a good human being? If your answer is positive then there's no harm loving yourself. But most of us just think about our own benefits. That's not loving 'me'. That is selfishness.
Sometimes I love myself and sometime I don't. because at times i do feel i'm not the person that I wanted to be. So it's all about inner beauty.

Yes, as everyone says here, we should love ourselves. I believe that loving oneself is different than being selfish. Loving oneself for me is taking good care of my body so that i wont get sick. We should also maintain our self respect and dignity.

Yes,I agree to this point.I think everyone is different from the others .And everyone is the only one.We should take care of ourselves first and then to look after the other.we must love ourselves,don't make myself unhappy.
