Help please, my Firefox is too slow

First of all go to tools options advance update and check the one where it says that they ask before installing Updates
The only Thing I can suggest is to go to clear recent History and clear it close down Firefox and try again

I have been using firefox for a while and I find it faster the Internet Explorer. Try deleting all your temp files which should speed things up and make sure you are using the latest version of Firefox.

I have heard a few members are having trouble using myLot with Firefox. If all else fails go back to Internet Explorer.

I used to use firefox, but it drove me nuts, it kept shutting down, and i was back to square one, so i dont use it anymore....it was good at first, then became a pain in the a*se, so i dont bother with it now...

hi bullettooth well I just had to resort back to Internet explorer as my firefox quit loading completely. all that happened when I hit send was the words waiting for mylot kept running and running and waiting and waiting.after forty minutes i decided something is wrong with my firefox so went back to internet explorer which is slow but it did load. I made just 62 cents all day Sunday and was so stressed out my blood glucose ran really high. good luck with your firefox.

Yeah, sometimes, many automatic updates may slow down your Firefox.

I have to say that Firefox is a fast browser, but with the lapse of time it starts working much slowly. The reason is fragmentation of profile databases. Firefox used to be good but now it sucks.I used to love using it..but all it does is freeze up and is so slow and I installed the latest updates and it has become very annoying.I don't have a magic fix but your not alone in your problems with it.I hope it sorts itself out for you.

this happened to me earlier on pete, it took ages to load then i got this runtime error message, so i just rebooted and tried again, it did take time but it worked, maybe do a scan on your pc and get rid of malware and cookies, that could be whats slowing you down....

I have a feeling its not Firefox, as mine was playing up and I thinks its mylot, it has righted itself now.

There's no doubt that Firefox updates have caused problems, particularly for older computers. Part of the issue is that the browser is apparently about twice as big as it was when it first came out (so my IT guy tells me).
However, one thing I've done that's improved it a lot is to go to Tools/Add-ons. There are a number of add-ons that seem to cause issues with Firefox. One that was particularly troublesome was AVG Safe Search. Actually most of the add-ons can be dispensed with. Set them to disable, restart the browser and see if that makes a difference.
