how does the reputation star next to your name work?

This question gets asked again and again on this site. I think you'll find explanations of it in the rules, but basically it's an indication of your ranking on mylot. If you do a lot of posting, particularly posts where you actually write more than one or two sentences, then you'll get ranked highly. If you only ever post a sentence, or a single question kind of discussion, then your rank will stay low. I don't think it means you get paid more if you're ranked higher, however.

The star next to your name si your ranking and you received it from other users who rated you either positive or negative. If you look, you will see the signes for positive and negative in the discussion and response area. That is what others use to rate you. I will rate positive, but there are some that will rate you negative just because. As far as our earinings are conderned, yes, it does affect them, as the higher the rankin the higher the earnings. I give posities out because I am trying to help others to have good ratings, and also to get better earnings. Also, if you post quality, then you get better earnings and you get rated better than if you didn't. Just continue to post quality and you will se your earings increase.
