Where do you shop for Meat?

I usually buy meat from the butcher's section in the supermarket. I'm a great lover of chicken and usually the best buy is in the delicatessen section. I search for what is on special or for products that are reduced for quick sale...I cannot afford to buy meat at full price.

My friend has a farm with cattle. When he sends some to be sold, he sometimes chooses a "killer" also. This is a beast which will be butchered for his own use. The meat is beautiful as he is a good farmer and looks after his animals. He sometimes shares with me.

Well today is food shopping day,& we only have one choice for shopping & that is at walmart... BUT when i pick out my meat, IF there is alot of fat on it, i ask them to trim it down for me, & they do. I will not pay for fat either, just as i will not pay for broccolli stems.. I will pick off the flowerettes & bag them,leaving the stems there.. I get charged the same price...My brother taught me this a few years back when i was struggiling buying enough groceries to last all month.. It helps me out tremendously....Lori

I have never bought meat at WalMart. It just does not look very appealing to me. I go to where ever I know they are having a sale. LOL! I do buy other groceries at WalMart but at times some of their things ar higher than the same thing would be at Schnucks or Dierbergs.

We have a local market up here of MN owned cattle, pigs, etc. We buy from them as they are all free range animals and fed organically. There are no hormone injections, etc that you find with some store bought meat. We have definitely noticed a difference in taste to be certain.

Our cost is also drastically less then it was when I was just buying my meat from Cub Foods.

I also never shop at one store for all my items. I visit four different stores depending upon sales, and so forth. It just makes sense as they are all in the same general location that I am not spending all that on travel. Two of the stores are within walking distance and in nice weather we do our shopping that way.

I go to walmart and get most of my stuff there. I always am able to find the best prices on all the things that I need. I am like you I too go to the local grocery store in our town to buy my meat. They have good prices and you can get what you pay for there.

I shop mainly at two stores for my food - Walmart and Fareway. Fareway is where I get most of the meat in my house, as well as milk, cheese, and a few other random things. Walmart is where I get most everything else. Once and a while we shop at Aldes, but my mom doesn't like going there too much because you have to bag your own stuff.

I am normally visiting to a meat shop in the markets in order to buy
the meat because of the good quality and good price. There are some
times I used to visit to shopping in the Careefour, where I used to
buy all the foods stuff like grocery items, food items, pasta and noodles,
etc., some times I used to buy small quantity of meat also, but mainly
I am going to a meat shop in the markets to buy more kg of meat. So the
meat shop we can find the good and nice meat and also all are very fresh
and some times even the price also too less than the malls.

I only shop for meat in reputable vendors. I don't go places where there are live animals or live butchering going on because I cant stand seeing or hearing it. Not that I'm saying those places are dingy or anything. I just can't bear it.

My family and I buy fresh meat from our local grocers and butcher where the meat is cut up and all nice and clean. No live animals at all. My ideal place.

i shop in the open market not in a shopping mall as the meat heir is quite expensive although the place is squeky clean especially if one do the shopping in the early afternoon and in the evening within the last hours. Their would be less crowded and more convenient to buy. Though, i still like to personally buy from the markets..

I buy it at the same store I get all my groceries, Raleys. They have a pretty decent selection, including a small natural and organic section...
