lap top users i need help.....?

we have bought a dell studio 15 laptop a month back .it came with vista preinstalled on it...now i want to install win xp pro on it but when i click on f12 and boot the laptop with cd it loads some drivers then gives a blue screen ......please tell me why its giving blue screen ....how to get rid of it and continue with the installation without any problem...when i said this to some body in my friends he said that may be it has got a hardware lock but ....please tell me how i can i install win xp on my dell laptop....

First format your drive where you installed vista. XP can not be installed on Vista. Vista can be installed on XP. By using CD of XP you can format any drive you want.

You can't just install XP on top of a Visata, you'll need a downgrade for your laptop, ask in the store where you bought the laptop.
