When my kids were growing up we went through a lot of milk! Two growing boys drink a lot of that stuff! After they were 8 and 9, though, I switched to skim milk because they got enough fat from all their other foods. Skimmed was even more expensive that whole milk!

I often wondered why whole was more expensive than skim. YOu'd think they have to reduce the amount of fat so that would be an extra process perhaps that would entail more cost? But I suppose they have whole milk now so much more expensive because they can't take the extra fat out to make other dairy products?

Im a cereal addict and i eat it all day mostly cereal and nothing else so you could imagine how much i use alone then theres my younger brother who loves to down whole pint glasses in one go! Then with visitors and us we go through alot of tea and coffee with milk. We go through a good 24 - 28 pints of milk a week!

I can agree with that! Especially if there is a good cereal sale! There was one the other week and I kid you not w/ went thru all 4 boxes in a week when we usually go thru 1. But you know when they have the fancy brand names for the same as the generics you grab your favorites.

I drink milk in most of breakfasts, I often mix hot water with milk powder to make a big glass of milk. During the day, I sometime have fresh milk and I also have yogurt as dessert (it's a form of milk also). I can't count the volume that I consume, but I think it's much.

I don't think you are having too much at all. One needs to drink milk evenin their adult hood for vitamin d & for good bone health.

My older 3 mainly only have milk on the weekends. They get milk in school, and at home I make them drink water, they can have like 1 glass of juice a day. On school days they do not have cereal, they have like waffles or something. The little 2 will have cereal most days, but aside from that they are not huge fans of milk. I actually force them to drink a glass or 2 a day. My littlest used to flat out refuse to drink milk, but he'd constantly steal my coffee! So one day I decided to put a dash of my flavored creamer into his milk, and he loved it! Now when I pour the milk he gets all whiney cause he doesn't want it, but as soon as I pull out the creamer he gets all excited!

I live by myself, but I drink more than entire families. Lately, I have been going through 3 gallons a day. A freakish amount I know. In a week, I would have between 15-20 gallons. Why so much? I found that at least for me, because I do so much heavy lifting that my body absorbs the milk, which equals growing boy. I knew I was already a big guy, but I didn't realize how much bigger I am compared to a normal person. I can drink a gallon in 10 minutes and not get sick. But it does draw attention at the grocery store having a cart full of milk or walking somewhere while having one turned up in my face. I have even demonstrated to people that I could drink an entire gallon. There have been comments like you should be in a got milk commercial, or you should consider buying a cow. Considering my size and me bulking up, milk may have done me too much good, but I love it.

we used to consume so much milk before. our consumption of the product dropped dramatically when we were advised by the nutrionist that it is not a good thing to be doing since we are all adults already.
the main tip runs like this: there are no animals that we can see around us which still consumes milk when they are already old enough to subsist on their needed natural food which lay around them in abundance.
we were told that fruits and vegetables are best for us plus little meat and fish to go with them. as for chocolates, we love having them around always.

Hi,3SnuggleBunnies! There are quite a few people in my household, but we go through about 10 gallons of milk in a week. Everyone of my children love to drink milk, and my grandchildren do also. It is hard to keep milk around my house. I have told my children if they keep drinking milk the way they do, that i am going to have to invest in a cow just to support their milk habits,
. I am glad though that they like to drink milk, it is so much better for them than sodas.
