Globe Broadband banning Mylot?

I am a subscriber of Globe broadband for quite sometime now and so far they have been doing good until Sep. 26 when all of these problems started occuring. Sep 26 as we all know that there was this flooding that happened in our place. My line was totally disconnected and I truly understood them for not being able to use my line for almost a month. Then about a couple of weeks ago they have restored the internet lines back and I was happy about that although my telephone line is still not restored. Then after several days of using their internet I noticed that only Mylot site is not loading properly on my PC. I though it was a mylot downtime but I also noticed everytime I am in office I could access mylot without a problem. But when I arrive home and click on Mylot site it always shows an error message telling me that the site loads too long. I got suspicios and tried getting proxy server and accessed mylot normally. I do not understand why Globe Broadband would do this. I think they are doing this because I have read in here somewhere about a member complaining about their service. I think they started blocking this site since then. I hope glboe should not do this since Mylot is not a harmful site and if someone complains of their service it is because they could not properly deliver the service to their customers like me.

I did several times already. I already gave up when I would only get the same answers from their Customer Service. They could not even give what is the status except same old answers that I already got used to everytime I call them.
In the case of Mylot being inaccessible I admit I haven't reported this and I am discouraged already calling them. Right now I can access mylot because I am using a proxy server. I just hope they they did not intentionally block the site because Mylot is not doing anything against them.

Oh really? They do that because somebody wrote a complain about them here in mylot? Then they are also mylotters...
Just kidding!
That is really bad... My mom has globe tattoo, and yes the connection is very slow. I didn't know about that posting but I sure agree to that. But still, I hope that they did not block mylot intentionally just because of that. That is very unprofessional and unethical.
Have you tried to report this to them? So what are their reasons?

Well at least you can now access mylot! What ever the reason is, it is good that all is back to normal again. I hope you will not encounter this problem again. I am using PLDT DSL.

Is that possible? I think that would be really so unfair for mylot users who use Globe Broadband. I think you have to verify from Globe if they really did. If they really did then it is about time to contemplate in shifting to Smart or PLDT.

I noticed that for the last 2 days already. The first night I ignored it because Mylot does go offline every now and then but last night it was still the same and I already got some suspicion about it so I did check and Mylot is not really offline via a proxy server connection. It is from Globe that the site is blocked. I know that in offices with strict internet policies they could block sites they do not want their employees to go but for ISP not to allow a subscriber to surf certain sites should not be done by them.
Just got surprised early this morning when I tried connecting to mylot I was able to connect already. I guess my post in here wqas effective as mylot is accessible already. I hope it was just a glitch on their system or what and nothing more.

Is it so Is mylot banned by globe network? It is quite an unfortunate thing that mylotr is not getting open in the broadband service that is being specified by you. My lot is one of the best social sites I have ever visited and we can learn manything from mylot and I suggest mylot to everyone as they earn while they learn. Thanks for posting the discussion and have a great day. Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

Guess what I checked today and it is not blocked anymore. I was able to access the site and they were working fine already. I need not go through the proxy site to see what is happening here. I am hoping that they would continue doing this.

this is not good rsa, since I am also a Globe subscriber. you know one thing i really hate about globe is when they asked us pay so much and not leaving a discount of it. i even request for a temporary disconnection because my computer crash but since mine is bundle,
they will add a disconnection fee after a reconnection after a month. it's horrible as i thought this service is still good, if i experience this when i get my computer back, i SWEAR i will have disconnected permanently all of their service and switch to PLDT or Smart

I am just disgusted about it. I will try to ask their customer service about my access to Mylot and see if they can be of assistance. I could not call from home since my phone is still not working. So I will try to call from office to know how things are.

Hi rsa101! I'm sorry that you're having issues connecting to our beloved mylot when you're at home. I do have Globe Broadband too and never had a problem connecting to this website. Usually, when it rains, connection to all sites may be interrupted, but only that. It will be back to normal again after few hours.
I also agree with other users have said. You must contact Globe to resolve your issues immediately. For sure, they have their response to this.
Good luck and enjoy your day!

I am glad that you are not having issues with Globe. I am too a defender of them way back but after the Ondoy experience I realize that many of them complaining against them are correct. I have been patient enough to wait for their service restoration but I think I have endured about a month of constantly calling them and reminding them that my phone is still not working and for the past month they have only restored the internet connection and I could not access many sites that i used to access before. So I hope you understand why I am ranting in here.

I maybe can't understand what you are feeling and what you have been through but what i can suggest is for you to have your internet connection changed.
Yes, patience is a virtue and I'm glad you have it. But too much of waiting may not be healthy or good anymore. Not getting your phone service works is truly not good. Connecting to some sites is another problem too. It hinders you to work at it and you're not getting the whole services that you are paying. You could have connect to it when you use a different service :)

If globe is really banning mylot... then they will get a lot of negative reaction from bloggers and mylotters alike... and i think you should call their customer service to be sure about it... i use smart internet here in the apartment and digitel dsl in the office... but so far... i can access mylot in both places...

I have a feeling that it is happening only at night because today the access to the site is okay again. At night, when I try to access the site I could not. I have to use the proxy server and right there and there I could access the site with no problems at all. I wonder why is this?

Usually if I have problems with the service provider; like I can't access most programs, I'll delete cookies, and re-connect again. And if I have called the customer service and the problem seems to be the same, I'll let the matter rest for a few days before coming back to it. And the last resort would be to come down and see a representative in charge of hardware or something. There has to be a solution, or else I'll have to change to a new service provider. That's what I would do; if I'm in that kind of situation.

Done that already.... but the same results.... I am seeing that there seems to be a problem when I access the net at night I am unable to access the site but early this morning I can access it. I have to use a proxy server to access the site which is inconvenient to use. But early this morning I can access the site again. What do you think can explain this pehnomenon. I am perplexed as well why this thing happens. hmmm....

i don't think they have to do it. since you are a good subscriber in terms of payment, i know it is the right of any subscriber to go to any sites he wish to go to. they should not restrict subscriber from going to any sites or do what they want, as long as the subscriber pays for his dues. my problem with my mobile provider is this. for 4 months, i got free internet. i know the free service lasted for more than a year or two. i just discovered the free service on june. but this time, i can no longer connect to the internet using my phone. i have to look for a hotspot to get connection. only good thing left for me, in going to internet is when i am in the office. but dsl connection nowadays is very poor. connection is getting worst everyday.

You are right about that. But, this morning it seems that they may have read my post in here and I am able to access the site already. I am just thinking that it might have just been a technical glitch on their system and they took action already. I just hope they could restore my phone line soon just as fast as they cleared this issue.

it's nice to hear that, my friend. by this point, would you say that even our local network providers are monitoring our activities online, just like on mylot? would you say that smart, globe and sun cellulars are constantly monitoring their subscribers online business? i have read some forums about these network providers, that they have what this called FB or Free Browsing. They said that some subscribers can use their mobile phones in browsing the internet for free. Have you heard about this? Do you have any idea about this free internet surfing or browsing, using cell phones only or using our cell phones to connect our computers in the internet?

Hi rsa,
Before the typhoon my internet provider was digitel. Since Sept. 26(typoon Ondoy), up to now my digitel broadband has not been restored yet, and it's been almost 2 months. I got tired of the standard line of their customer service ("ongoing pa po ang restoration") so I applied for Smart broadband. I'm very happy with my internet provider now. I haven't tried Globe though. But I don't believe Globe, or any internet provider will block any site, as the subscriber the has right to choose the sites he wants to visit. So I guess you just need to have your line checked by a technician. Good luck.

I am glad you don't have this problem with your ISP. I feel I am the only one that experiences this and I am trying to see if it is a local problem with my PC or somthing. I'll try this evening if I use my desktop if there is the same results as well. In the morning I am having normal access to mylot and it usually happens in the evening.

I think heavy internet traffic especially on many users accessing mylot altogether causes this. I actually am using pldt mydsl and I have little or no problems loading mylot. Just try to clean your internet cache and cookies. Use different web browsers and look if the same problem occurs when you access mylot. In the end, when the problems is still there, try switching to a different ISP.

I have been able to access the site despite that I already cleared the cache and cookies but to no avail I am just not able to access the site. I used a proxy server and the site loads normally so its not the site that is the problem since it loads via proxy servers. i think it has something to do with globe why this is not loading properly.

Typhoon Ondoy affected the globe internet service?
It s*cks then. I'm thankful somehow that my ISP is Sun Broadband. Before, during and after the typhoon my internet was never interrupted and the good part is it's cheaper than any other service providers.
Upon reading the above responses and your comment I'm glad to know that you can now happily access mylot hope that it won't happen to you again or to any subscribers of any ISP's

What? I just bought a broadband from globe... OMG! I am using two internet providers and MyDSL and Globe Broadband.. What the heck is their problem banning mylot? This is not a harmful site and they do not have a right to block a site with no good reason. O men.... I hope this problem get fixed immediately. And in terms of service you are right about that, they have very slow connection.

Try using Globe at night and check if you can access mylot. In my experience I have hard time accessing it it always says a problem in accessing the site. But early mornings I am able to access the site. I usually resort to using the proxy servers and I can access the site without any problem. I wonder why this is happening. I am perplexed as well.

Is that true? How come? Also, I know someone who used his postpaid sim and after an hour or so of surfing and download, made nineteen thousand pesos in the bill. How come Globe don't made this clear to the public.

I think there is a problem in the systems of globe. Because if not why they do that for all the subscriber.
I don't understand why those internet service provider here in the Philippines is not fair for their subscriber since we are paying regularly and fair for them.
Just make a note of complaint and send it to globe websites so that they made an action for that problem, my friend. That is unfair...

Try to scan your computer to see if there is a spyware that or adware that prevent you accessing the sites. Because I experience that due to virus among the reason for not accessing any sites...clean also your cookies to speed up loading of your connection...There is a trouble like that which this is a virus problem not the connection. But if you do that thing and your connection is erratic just scan it again for anti-virus that is clean worms and trojan virus. There is called virus that will affect the connection in most restricted sites. I don't the name of the virus but depend on the anti-virus of your computer...If your using avg just change it. Because that is not effective enough...

Well you have to call customer service and ask what the problem is all about. If loading only affects mylot then you have every reason to suspect but if it happens to other sites as well then I think it still has something to do with the line disconnection caused by the typhoon. Personally, I don't think globe broadband is stupid enough to create problems that would surely create more problems on thier part such as giving a hard time for their clients to access certain websites just because you don't like their service because the more they ignore the problem the likelihood that they'll lose a customer. And we all know that losing customers is bad for business. So I hope Globe will be able to resolve your issues soon. Cheers!

I am always calling and following up when my phone would be restored. But since they were able to restore the internet I was slowed down following up hopign they would repair my phone line soon. But until now they have not restored the phone. The internet has been running smoothly in the past several days already although last week they disconnected it for a couple of days before restoring it again. The good thing is they stopped billing me for the whole month already.
With the Mylot blocking.... I was surprised to know that the site is accessible again. I am thinking on the premise that it might just be a glitch in their system or they did not deliberately block the site. But from what I know they can do this if they want to.
