Going out in public with mismatched shoes...

Has anyone else done this before? I recall wearing different colored socks a few times but never shoes...until a few days ago that is. I didn't even realize that I was wearing different shoes until about halfway through my shift at work. I was sitting down and taking a break when I looked down and noticed that I had two different shoes on. I was baffled and embarrassed by my blunder. The only good thing about the ordeal was that no one noticed it because it was partially hidden by my semi-baggy jeans.

Yup that's funny alright. The size mis-match happened to me as well. At a wedding recetion. The bridal party, of which I was one, consumed alot of champagne, and we girls, all wearing matching shoes, kicked them off under the table so we could dance. When we had to run for the limo I ended up with one of my size 4 and one of the others' size very large..I looked ridiculous trying to keep that thing on my foot, while she was hopping through the lobby holding my other shoe and of course we were both too inebriated to just trade. There are still people in both our lives, that even years later, find the need to re-tell this story. So I am glad for you that no on noticed.

Yeah, I'm sorry to tell you but I've never had that happen either. I'm sure your not the only one though. I'm not sure how likely it is but I'm positive your not the only one. Of course I've had those times when I had different socks on and even had different socks on because I just couldn't find the other one.lol. But it's just a story to keep your laughing. Like you said luckily no one noticed and decide to make fun about it.

Hi, saizo6. Yes, this happened to me. In 6th grade that is. Someone stole my sneakers out of my locker.. And it was time for me to go to gym so I had to wear mismatched shoes. It was during P.E. Boy was I so ashamed then! At least no one noticed it but you.. That is my best less shameful feeling..

That was funny and lucky nobody could see your shoes.
It has happened to me before when I was still 10. I had to wake up early for my First Communion at the church and got ready with the white gown. My mom was helping me to prepare, but we were already late and when I was almost done, I just grabbed the school shoes because that was the only white shoes I have and I did not bother about it as long as they were all white.
The funny thing was when I was putting on the shoes inside the car, the right shoe was slightly bigger. I have mistakenly took one of my older sister's school shoes.
Well, I just wore it even though it looked a bit weird.

Hahahahaha, I am laughing hard now. That has happened to me! It happened during one of those early dawn masses we usually celebrate before Christmas eve. There are 9 dawn masses before Christmas and most churches celebrate them at 4am or 5am. I was so sleepy during that time and we were getting late for church. We really need to be at the church early to get a seat. My late husband was already calling me out as he was starting the car's engine. I hurriedly slipped my feet into shoes and never felt any difference when I wore both. When I looked down at my feet inside the church, I noticed that I had one white sandal on the left foot and black on the other. Hahahaha, that really woke me up fully and I nudged on my late husband to see what I had discovered. He was so amused that he could not contain it and let out a giggle. It was a good thing that I wore a long flowing skirt (it was a fad at that time). I didn't go to communion and stayed put on my seat. When the mass ended, I squeezed myself in the crowd going out of the church and walked as fast as I could to the car. Whew, that was really an experience! ... a very embarrassing one at that!

Hahaha...good to know that I'm not the only one. That's probably the main reason there, waking up too early and being in a rush. I had to work at 7am that day and I woke up late so I was rushing to get everything together. Usually I look to see what shoes I grabbed but that wasn't the case. I just put on whatever and left. It also didn't help that my brain was a bit addled. But that's what happened and I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be the last time. Thanks for the response.

LOL! I don't think I've ever gone out with two different shoes on. Socks - yes. Shoes - don't think so! Then again all of my shoes are pretty different, so I think I'd definitely notice if I had two different shoes on.
At least you had baggy jeans on and honestly, I bet noone noticed! It is something to laugh about now though!

Yeah, I was really glad that no one noticed. They probably didn't because both shoes were black. It was just different brand shoes. One was Vans and the other New Balance. Usually, it would be awkward to walk around in two different shoes but I think I was too tired to notice or something.
