|  Are there any wedding/party planners out there? I'm starting to consider this since it is another way to make money. Get paid to have fun while you set up the fun for others...? Not bad huh? Have you ever hired a wedding/party planner?

| | Great! That is the same thing I did, that is why I'm really thinking about becoming a wedding planner. I love the planning but, the way the economy is right now, I am startint to realize that not everybody wants to hire someone when they can get the details taken care of on their own.

| | Thanks, but I'm already having second thoughts about it, so I think I may not end up doing it. I think I will just stick to my mystery shopping and that will prevent any headaches later down the road.

Being a wedding planner or party planner isn't exactly how you describe it. It is a very stressful job making sure a large group of people are cared for and catered to. You must be very organized and you must be able to work under pressure. You also have to have a good network of business contacts to get things done.
I am not a wedding planner but I have a friend who wanted to get into it because she thought it was but eventually she backed out. I'm not trying to discourage you. If you think it's something for you, by all means, why not. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks, and no, you haven't discouraged me, I have been doing research almost all day to see how the training would go and the ins and outs of it, but I guess I have what it takes, I'm just not willing to do it and put so much into it to later realize it wasn't what I really wanted. Mystery shopping is a stress reliever and I am just gonna stick to that... lol

| |  My several friends hired wedding planner to organise their wedding party.. Yep, it's definitely a very cool job. And you gotta be confident,thoughtful,responsible,etc if you really want to engage in this field...

Like you I wanted to be a wedding planner too because I just love organizing celebrations like baptismal, debut and weddings. It sounds a great job, lots of fun and amusement, a great outlet to my boring and often sordid life. It's a fulfilling job actually. Well first you must have enough knowledge about being an organizer and do some research on a particular event you want to organize, you should be diverse, open minded and inclined to deal with different types of people.
This job requires tremendous amount of PR and huge saving of patience and understanding. You should love to deal with the ins and outs of modern parties and organizing different size of events, and most importantly you should be creative and know how to work under pressure then you are on the go.
