| On October 1, 2009 a two groups of teenage boys met up for a fight, which resulted in the death of one teenage boy. A eighteen year old boy, Robert Lowry, swung a golf club at the victim, Justin Hussin, causing his death. The teens that were there with the victim, Justin Hussin, were the individuals that brang the weapons [golf clubs, baseball bats, etc.] to the fight. Witnesses at the scene stated that Hussin had a baseball bat in his hands and it appeared that he was going to swing at Robert Lowry. For the full story : http://www.clickondetroit... | | | | | |

| | tough one i guess in the eyes of the law its manslaughter as they went for a fight not to actually kill anyone. No matter what though its just another extremely sad example of how bad this world has got. | | | | | | |

| | When someone meets with the expectation that there is going to be a fight, I don't care if it is an accident or not, if someone is killed during that fight it is MURDER. While it might not be premeditated (planned) it is still murder and the people involved need to be punished and taught a lesson. I think that this is horrible. What ever happened to good old fashioned hand to hand fights? now a days everyone is a coward and feels the need to involve weapons. I think that something needs to be done about things like this, unfortunately as long as there are people who think that fighting is the only way to resolve a problem, we will never be able to find a solution. I hope that things like this don't happen more often and that people start to realize that evil begets evil, you can't stop it by doing something bad in return. | | | | | | |

| | Oh, wow, to me this is so sad first of all. I can't believe that there are people out there that think that can do things like this and walk away. In my eyes, yes I would have to say that it was murder and the people do deserve to go to prison for the rest of their lives. And its so sad that they left him there and ran away. I hope that the ones who killed don't get away with it. | | | | | | |

| | i think this is tough one guess whether it is a murder or an accident. But still investigations should be done to find out the exact reasons for this fatal incident. More importantly people should know to control their anger. Anger leads to lot of mistakes in life. It is better to control yourself rather than regret later. | | | | | | |

| | It is really unfortunate that this kind of things happen these days. Why should a group of teen meet jut to fight. Are the so stupid that they don't know that this is an invitation for trouble. He is guilty of manslaughter and should pay for his crime. Its a shame his father is making things worse by telling him to run away from the authorities, why did he tell him not to fight, that would have been a lot easier. | | | | | | |

| | This is a tough one to answer, so allow me to give my opinion on this discussion... First of all, I very much doubt violence was the ONLY way of resolving this situation. In fact, I believe there must have been many less extreme ways of ending this dispute. Did the boys talk to each other in a mature manner beforehand? If not, why not? My guess is that since both boys were accompanied to the fight with friends, they had been slightly forced into it by peer pressure. In my experience, this is how many fights get started in the first place, because of certain people simply wanting to see two enemies hurt each other without having to get involved themselves. Secondly, if fighting was the only way of sorting out this dispute, then I think that the least both parties could have done was agreed not to take any weapons and duke it out man-to-man in as fair of a fight as possible. However, this was not the case, and the boy who resorted to using a weapon first was obviously reluctant and not confident enough to fight, in which case he should have walked away from the whole thing and inform somebody about the situation. Finally, although I consider this murder, I do not consider it murder in the same way I would consider a stranger attacking a victim in a dark alleyway or something similar. I would instead consider this a form of self-defense that ended in an unfortunate fatality. If I was approaching somebody who was wielding a base-ball bat with the obvious intentions of using it to cause me harm, I would definitely want a weapon to even the odds. However, the trouble here is that the killer was probably so filled with rage and adrenaline, and was being cheered on by his friends, that he must have connected with more force than he had planned, resulting in a death. All I know is, I don't envy Mr Lowry right now, and certainly wouldn't want to be in his shoes. It's a shame for such a young boy to be faced with a lengthy prison sentence that will obviously take away so much out of his life, including the chance to enjoy his life whilst he is still young and getting a decent job upon release because of such a bad criminal record he will have against him upon his eventual release. | | | | | | |
