Can lack of focus really stem from an underlying feeling of being overwhelmed?

I generally like to think I'm not overwhelmed - I usually say i'm whelmed :) Meaning I got a lot to do but I got it all under control.
However lately I've had trouble getting through my long to do list. And it's mostly lack of motivation or focus. So I started to wonder, maybe I'm overwhelmed and my mind just tells me I'm tired? Maybe deep down I am seeing this list and saying YIKES and so my mind just says "you can work on it tomorrow".
What do you think? Could this lack of focus and motivation stem from a subconscious thing? Am I really overwhelmed and I just don't really know it?
How do you deal with lack of focus? When you have 1000 things on your mind, how do you sit down and get one done? please share your tips and I'm sure something you say will help me :)

Hello Vivasuzi - I hope you're having a good and "whelmed" day thus far. Maybe your subconscious is telling you that it's time to just stop and smell the roses. I do understand that sometimes we get stuck in the rat race - and we tend to forget that life is meant to be lived. For me, my poison is running. I'm fairly busy like you - I have so much in my plate right now - the only thing that's keeping me sane is my running. When I run - i let my mind wander, from fantasizing what I would with 10 million dollars to dreams of running faster. That's when I recharge. And maybe you just need 30 or so minutes out of the 1440 minutes of the day to take a walk and breath some air. Life is meant to be lived! =)

Yes I totally agree and that is part of the reason I'm a procrastinator :-D Because I'll put things off in exchange for watching my fav shows or playing a game or whatever.
I think what I need to do is learn to take breaks more. Sometimes I'm trying so hard to be productive that I'm getting nowhere, but maybe if I just took a break and did something like a nice bath (that's what I love) then I can come out and tackle some issues! A lot of times I tend to put off the "rewards" until I get something done... but maybe I should just take my reward time more often :)
This response is confusing :-D I'm tired and getting ready for bed but I hope you get what I was trying to say! Thanks for the tips.
