My dog used to wear antlers during Christmas only for a few minutes though, long enough to get a picture, and we used to put a bandana on her sometimes. Did you ever put anything on your cat or dog?

I personally haven't put any clothing on our two cats. One of my daughters has tried to dress the cats up in clothes but neither of them have been keen. she would love it if they would allow her too!!! They are both boy cats but I think they would end up dressed as girls!!LOL

Yes, I do often put my little dog in clothes. She wears sweaters, shirts, halloween costumes (she was a squirrel this year) and even has a Christmas/Mrs. Claus suit. She mostly wears the sweater becuase she is always shivering. She actually likes to wear clothes. When she sees me pull out her sweater she runs in and jumps up on the couch, then she sits down and waits patiently while I put it on her.

I can say with pride no. We have a medium sized dog. She is in the neighborhood of 45 pounds. They don't usually make outfits that big. My hubby once bought her a costume. He thought it would be cool going out dressed for the entire family. It didn't fit and was returned, lol.

I actually have. I have two chihuahuas and my sister and I usually put sweaters on them during this time of year because it can get a bit chilly. We went out and bought some the other day. There was a orange one for Toby and a bright pink one for Daisy. However, when we got home we found out that the sweater we intended to get for each dog didn't fit them. We had to switch them so now Daisy is wearing the orange one and Toby is sporting the bright pink one. It's kind of funny though. Everyone teases Toby about his pink sweater but I guess he's comfortable in it because he practically struts around with it on. It's kind of cute.

I think dogs don't deserve to be treated like dolls, so I don't put clothes on them. However, where I live seems to be the most common thing, and all dogs from natives that I see in the street are wearing some kind of sweater.
You can spot a foreigner easily because his/her dog isn't wearing clothes.

hey there no never tried to do that, I can understand putting silly things on like antlers for a laugh and abit of fun from time to time.
But really cant understand people that dress dogs up everyday they have fur thats all they need lol.
Although I guess its personal choice and fair play to people who do, just dont see the point personally.

I put a bandana from a teddy bear on my kitten once. She didn't even notice that it was on her, so she wasn't in a panic to take it off! On halloween my boyfriend's parents always dress up thier dog, but within the hour he has taken his costume off and they have to do it all over again. They have raindeer antlers for him on christmas too!

My mom keeps insisting that our cats WANT to be dressed up. I think she's crazy but I do have a tiny little leprechaun hat that I put on my kitty for St. Pat's. She usually just sits really still until I take it off then runs away :D

As it happens, we once had a yorkie that had bad skin problems and thinning hair as a result. We used to put little doll t-shirts on her to keep her from catching a chill...Even tho we have had cats, I wouldn't consider trying it with a cat..self preservation rules!
Enjoy!

The only time I ever did this is when I took my dogs to Boston in February. Being it was the very first time they ever were in the snow and cold, I put them both in heavy sweaters, that I believe they were very grateful for. I'll never forget stepping outside of the terminal and the looks on both their faces! They immediately started to shiver and it took several days for them to adjust. I stopped putting on the sweaters after about 3 days. It turned out thet they loved to play in the snow and the cold seemed to give them all this playful energy..it was great. Aside from that, I have never been an advocate of dressing up dogs in clothes unless, like you, for halloween or something. Dogs HATE wearing clothes and so do cats, I don't care what anyone says. If you want to drss something up, than buy a doll, and leave your poor dog or cat alone. Although people will tell you it looks cute, I guarantee they're laughing behind your back..Its just not ment to be and why do you want to make your bestfriend unhappy?

I honestly believe my cat would scratch my eyes out if I tried putting anything clothing-like on him. He can't even stand to have his fur brushed! Although once I did try to put a hat on him. I was quick enough to get a picture, but after that he bit my ankle [not too hard] and ran down the hall with his back arched. I'm not doing that again, haha!
