A women in South Florida called in and emailed a bomb threat to American Airlines so her boss would not miss his flight to Honduras. She thought this would delay the flight from leaving, giving her boss time to get onboard. She felt she was to blame for his delay. She was arrested and helded on a $7,500 bail. Didn't she know she was going to get in trouble. You can't even say the word "Bomb" while online going thru check in or thru security check. What was she thinking. Investigators were able to track her email to her computer. Are people really that dumb to do this and think they were going to get away with it? I wonder if she still has a job?

Some people do strange things. I would bet she is alot of trouble. There is no way I would even think of doing something like that.

I know she was, even if the boss said to do that or else she would lose her job. She would have had a great case against him. We don't know if that is what happened but however she did it and she wasn't thinking with a full deck. Thanks for responding.

Apparently, this lady has no common sense whatsoever. I've been hearing and reading about people doing stupid things lately and this one has to be up their on the list. A bomb threat is serious business, especially in this day and age. I don't really care how desperate she was to delay the flight but to go about it that way is really wrong. She definitely should have known better. I just feel bad for the people who were the recipient of this 'threat'. They must have been scared and freaked out. I also don't picture that lady still having her job after this little incident. Even if she had good intentions to help her boss out her reputation is probably torn to shreds by now.

Wow!! This is crazy. Why would someone even want to consider doing something like this, and do they not understand all Emails are usually traceable back to where they originally started from? Personally I think that any job hearing of someone doing something like this would be disappointed and not want that type of person working for them, but actually I would think she would not be available right not to work there as well. But I guess sometimes people are just so desperate for attention they will do about anything.

I think its way over the line and I just wonder if the boss had threatened her "you better get me on that flight or else." Some bosses can be really mean. However, that was going way overboard.

I just can't believe that because your boss is going to miss his flight your first thought is to call in a bomb threat. There is always another flight. Thanks for responding.

Wow that was a bit of a silly Idea
I mean like you say that is the worse thing she could have done to stop the flight, with all the carry on she would have scared a lot of People and now she might not even have a Job even though she did it to stop her Boss missing his flight but that is beside the point as that was the worst thing she could have done, she should have thought before making this call and the Consequences on it

lelin1123,
The things people do, during stress is simply baffling and not forgetting bewildering. I suppose these people just forget to look ahead, like booking an alternative flight or postpone the pending appointment. To think of hoaxing the airline to facilitate check in is just unthinkable.
I do not think she had ever spared a thought of the consequences of her questionable actions here. Fully and foolishly aware, she just commit the rather unthinkable. This is not the first time I heard about passengers calling in with a bomb threat to delay the flight from taking off. It is just plain silly or rather as you have coined Dumb!

I just can't believe that this is what would come to her mind to call in a bomb threat. Thanks for responding.

similar things happened here in India also. A man who was to board a flight was late by two hours, so he played a trick and called airport authorities warning that there was a bomb in that particular flight, the flight was delayed by 3 hours for checking and that man boarded the flight easily. But he had made this coax call from his mobile which was easily tracked and he was caught before landing his destination.

I seriously can't believe that its so important to make a certain flight that someone would go to that length. Is it really worth it. The stupidity of some people I just don't get it. Thanks for your response.

Here in india one has to remain dumb many times, people see a road accident, but prefer to pass away, because if you take the wounded to hospital, or inform police, you will be keep running to police station in future, so bad..
Thanks for sharing.
God bless you.
Cheers.

Hi, lelin1123. That was so stupid and dumb of her.
How can she email a bomb threat just so that her boss would be able to get on board. Doesn't she know that, if there is a bomb threat her boss would not be going anywhere. The police and bomb squad would stop the plane from leaving. Everyone that is around, will be seized to a halt. No one will be able to leave or go anywhere. She was trying to help him out, but she only made matters worse. Her boss will be missing this so importantly flight.
