Do you "nurse" while walking around? |
| |
| I already have my hands full with a 4 year old - the diaper bags, purses, etc - and a stroller. Does anyone "nurse" while they are walking around and how do you manage it while having to hold all these other things? I am so used to nursing while sitting down with a Boppy pillow, but of course there's no way I can do that while in public (how would I carry around the Boppy pillow anyway?!). Just wondering what everyone else does!! | | | | | |

| | Simple, toss the stroller in the trash and buy a good sling. I pop my youngest in the sling, carry her around hands free all day, can nurse her whenever and where ever she wants, and have my hands free to get my older two kids. HotSlings is my favorite to use, check them out. | | | | | | |

| | HotSlings . . . oh, I'll have to check it out! There are so many slings in the market right now . . . and thus far I haven't found anything that fits me well. I am small and all the slings are seem so big and clumsy. Thank you for that tip! Believe me, I would love to not lug around a stroller!! | | | |

| | Once again, I think this would come down to having a sling. I see more and more new mothers these day using slings, and when my now three-year-old was really little I considered going on the sling track as well instead of using a stroller even though I wasn't able to nurse my children. I thought that especially as a very small baby is that I think in addition to being able to have on demand feeding, it would be a lot more comfortable for them as well. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks, dorannmwin. I didn't think I would be this successful with nursing this time around, so I didn't really observe what other moms were doing. Yesterday we went out, and nursing proved to be difficult in public for me - so I need to work on it! A better sling would probably help . . . I am small, so my arms get tired of holding a baby real quick. My friend actually helped me with one of the slings I already have, so we'll see if her trick works. | | | |

| | No, I never nursed either of my kids while walking around when they were babies. I either nursed them while laying down or sitting only. Maybe you could use a baby sling to help hold baby if you have to nurse your baby while you're walking. With your hands so full already it might just be the perfect thing for you. Good luck! | | | | | | |

| | Thanks, sacmom. I am still trying the right sling for nursing . . . I'm on the short/small size, so it's proving to be difficult. I wasn't sure if anyone actually walked around while nursing - these are the things they don't tell you in books. And I am finding that I can only nurse sitting down (I haven't tried laying down yet - was that easier?). The experimentation continues~~~!! | | | |

| | I'll have to try that laying down position, but I'm afraid I'm going to roll over the baby as I get pooped out so easily these days! I actually like the older stages more than the baby stages . . . I'm only up to age almost-5 with my oldest daughter. Good luck with the teenage years!! And maybe by then I'll have found a sling - hee hee! | | | |
